No in and out privileges. Once you leave, you can't get back in.
Thank god. Otherwise, he'd probably return wearing an exploding belt full of nails.

Because the douchebag wants to pray to the wrong god.

And he's in the wrong country.
Do the Saudis allow me to pray to St. Joseph in Mecca?

Oh, that's right, I'm not even allowed to step foot in Mecca, let alone pray there.

Northwestern gets federal grant money . I have an interest in what they are spending funds on....i.e. if they can waste money on this crap then they don't need my tax dollars.

But way to hatefully libel Slave.

Yeah, I'm sure that was his overriding concern.

I agree that Northwestern should not spend federal money providing what would be a religious preference. If that was required to address this pretty minor and innocuous request, then the answer should be "no."

If, on the other hand, there was an available space not being used during a game, and it was not a problem to let them use that space, then the answer should either be "yes" or "no".

Since the prayer is probably fairly short -- I've seen it and remember it being only 10-15 minutes, but I'm sure different muslims do it differently -- I wouldn't think any outlays of federal funds would be required. But, like I said, if they were then the answer should be "no".

I'm just not seeing how the answer includes "douchebag" and "stay home during prayer time" (which, if you pray five times a day, pretty much means "stay home all day").

It affects my life because I'm sitting here on the deck of the Titantic watching the PC police continue to destroy the culture of this country.

A country where it is no only absolutely acceptable, but proper - to treat Christianity with utter contempt, while everday we see more pandering to the incessant and unending complaints from Muslims who insist on preferential treatment.

From the buffoons at Pace University treating the finding of a Koran in a bathroom - a friggin book - as a "hate crime", to good ole' boy John Conyers trying to pass legislation making it a crime to offend Muhammad, it just never ends.

And every time a concession is made - like building a prayer room in an Athletic Arena - it only means a broader request is soon to follow.

But hey, why bother worrying about any of this. It's not as if they starting asking us dhimmis to pay them jizyah. Yet.

See, Penske? Did he mention "federal funding"? Or was it all "Clash of Civilizations"?

Does the Papacy allow Muslims to hold prayer services in the cathedral in the Vatican?

Do they have basketball and football games in Mecca? Or in the catherdal in the Vatican?

There ya' go! I knew that when you called a muslim a "douchebag," you really meant to say "terrorist".

I didn't know that the Northwestern sport facilities were Christian holy places.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Saudi's attitudes toward visitors is fucked up. But I'm not sure we should model our society on their's.

According to Spanky, we should model our society on Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and North Vietnam.

But only until we finish spreading democracy.

Yes, but . . . it seems to me that setting up a "prayer room" in the basketball arena is not a particularly good idea. Not because the folks asking for it are douchebags, terrorists, zionists, crusaders or scientologists. Because setting up "sacred" space in an otherwise a-religious facility that no one is present at other than completely voluntarily (i.e. not a workplace) is just not the way America works.

So a few people have to choose between honoring their religious beliefs and attending a basketball game--where does that stop? Do all college football games need to be moved from Saturday afternoons? What about Friday night high school football?

In my continuing effourt to exhibit bi-partisan reasonability, I take back what I said about hatefully libelling Slave and apologise for my presumptious.

That said, I still disagree with it if they are gettign any federal money, regardless of segregation of that money. If they can afffourd 1 red cent for this crap (and I would say the same thing if it was a jewish prayer area or a catholic prayer area or zoroastrian prayer area), I don't want them getting federal funds.....hell, can I be frank here, I don't think any private university should get federal funds period.

Why not, the Dems in power and their Eurosocialist comrades think we should model our policy towards Israel on the Saudi and other Arab States models?

Leave them the rest of the country, including Baghdad, do with as they, Iran, al-Qaeda and the UN wish.

I would suppourt that plan as alternative to the surge.
In other words, who cares about fighting terror and installing democracy in Iraq, so long as we can get some oil?
