I'm confused about who is working in the oil industry and doesn't know that it's future is finite. "Peak oil" has been a concept under discussion for decades.

It also turns the temperature down a little. I don't mind not having exurban dudes in cammo rolling coal down Cedar Ave., whether in celebration or protest.

You never know. The race will almost certainly be called today. Sunny Friday afternoon. The truck and camo crowd may decide its a good time to drive to the cities. Although it’s also the deer opener tomorrow, so that helps.

Yeah. This comment was when I knew he wasn't going to win Texas.

Especially paired with his easily misproved denial that he had ever said he'd end fracking.

I figure he'll win Pa by 40,000.

Like Nick Lowe says, You gotta be cruel to be kind (hi notbob!)

The President supports our military, while carving out from respect any killed or captured, and of course the respect is somewhat limited by the fact they are suckers, but still I hope when he gets their votes thrown out they realize he had their best interests in mind.

You won't have to call him that for much longer.

And While I’m happy Biden will be Prez, he has no mandate for climate change or whatever else he said. And the “squad” saying this will be the most progressive gov the US has had? Do they understand the role of the senate? I’m just tired of being lied to, even though these lies are iite lies compared to what we’ve heard.

Hey Hank, in the UP, it looks like Marquette County went strongly for Biden (D+11) but every other county went Trump. What makes Marquette County different from the other counties there?

BTW, I think it is both true that this will be the most progressive government the US has had, and also true that unless something awesome happens in Georgia, McConnell and the GOP will block progressive legislation.

The Squad isn’t lying. The Squad doesn’t know. They’re emoting. Which is what one does when one lacks critical thinking skills. (I exempt AOC from that. She’s smart and shrewd.)

Split govt is awesome. It’s unity. The guy everyone thought never belonged there is gone. In his place is a moderate. Nobody gets to radically change anything. Social policy is liberal, fiscal policy is a continuation of business and growth friendly tax initiatives.

Were progressives to take control of all three beaches, we’d have what we had in Trump’s first two years in reverse.

The system is built with multiple branches to ensure against it being overtaken by radicals. I know some Wall Street folks thought a blue wave would be great for the economy, but that’s just wrong. It’d be great for certain groups on Wall Street who’d profit from bigger stimulus and invested in industries that’d profit from progressive policies. It’d be a nightmare for the rest of the economy, which would tank.

The only awesome result in GA is a very slim retention of GOP senate control - enough to remind MCConnell he’s on thin ice and had better do some deals with Biden that help people beyond his own donors.
