No kidding. I'm with you 1000%. My only point was that our national circle jerk over gun ownership has prompted some changes. Not enough, obviously. What if a teacher or janitor just snapped one day? Or a student? Locking the door doesn't do enough

Need a TV show rec

To watch on Ipad while on the bike at the gym.

Finished Breaking Bad, the Wire, Walking Dead. Up to date on Falling Skies (meh).

Can't watch and am NOT impressed AT ALL by Homeland Pilot.

Gift Help

I am hosting a family get-together on Christmas Day, which is basically cookies and gifts with my family. This year, a second cousin and her boyfriend are joining us. Our cousin is in her late 20s and is here from Brazil doing doctoral research for a year. She spent Thanksgiving with us as well but we have never met her boyfriend. I was able to come up with an idea for a small gift for my cousin but don't know what to get her boyfriend. Does anyone have any ideas? The comparably aged male family member is getting cash and his favorite cookies from me. Many thanks in advance for any genius ideas you may have!

If you like SciFi/Fantasy, Battlestar Gallatica is a good series.

Yes. Remember the original and will try as opposed to Hank's suggestion that I watch a cartoon version of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.

We already did the work sorting out Fleshlight models. I'd look at those posts and get him one of them.

I enjoyed the hell out of Chuck, which doesn't require much brainpower but is still engaging. Helps to be geeky.

Booze is good. My husband recommends decent quality earbuds.

I assume you've watched both seasons of the BBC's Sherlock. Luther on the BBC is also not to be missed.

Sons of Anarchy is pretty good and there are 5 seasons so far. American Horror Story is on its second season and the first was very good. I assume you've watched House? That was a fantastic show and has many seasons. Justified is also pretty good.

You're welcome.

I don't know if there any Knick fans here besides Thurgreed, but even if you're not a fan this could be entertaining- Tracy Morgan is live tweeting the Knicks/Rockets game tonight on the official Knicks twitter @nyknicks
