Steinbrenner has good business timing even in death

Since we all have to go sometime, Steinbrenner "timed" his death perfectly to save his heirs a boatload of estate taxes.

Red Sox fans can gnash their teeth at all the extra cash the Yankees will have to buy more championships.

So, Steinbrenner did so little estate planning that all $1.1b of his assets would be subject to estate tax? Is that even remotely plausible?

Perhaps his estate lawyers figured that they couldn't be fired once he figured that out, so no worries.

This guy? wtf is "full sail university"

J. D. Harmeyer
Jamie "J. D." Harmeyer was a former intern in 2003, and is now the show's Media Producer. His main duty is to pull audio and video clips from television shows and the Internet for Stern to use on the show. Harmeyer has four TiVo recording systems installed in his office. He often arrives much earlier than other show staff to record, even coming in the evening before the 6:00 am radio show. Harmeyer's "nerdy" personality, awkward speech (frequently compared to Napoleon Dynamite), awful taste in movies (he famously gave Look Who's Talking and Look Who's Talking Too four stars out of four) and amusing personal life are common points of discussion when he is on the air. He is known to enjoy techno and drum and bass music.

His "themes" include "Battle Royale" by Does It Offend You, Yeah? and "Everytime You Leave" (Age Pee Short Mix) by Karma.

He attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, where he earned an associate's degree in television and film production.

Maybe his estate plan was to get his little lackeys in DC to creat a one year exemption in the estate tax almost a decade in the future, then clog up the agenda in DC with health care and financial reform and a couple wars so no one paid attention to the exemption for that one year, and then die during that year?

You think too small when it comes to estate planning. Think outside the box!

There's no offsides in indoor soccer. It's great, although it's exhausting and you have to sub in/out like hockey.

I'd like to see a game played at the pro level without offsides on a full pitch. Just to see what would happen.

That happened in the World Cup. As I recall, Germany scored.

I'm just happy that Phil Hughes took the loss last night.

The rest of you can carry on pissing on each other at whatever it is they're calling Giants Stadium now. Don't bother with soccer -- too much diving (right!), the refs suck (too true!), there's not enough scoring (fuckin A!), what the hell is that guy with the long hair doing running around like a big gaylord (I know, totally!), etc., etc.

Hey, you going to be at Fenway next week?

I don't think so, but I went down to Chester PA at the last minute last night.

I'm in number 8. Crap game, good night out. Boys with the flares got politely asked to leave.

Not me, but a guy I've known for years and, though he was absolutely shattered from drinking all day he really hadn't done anything wrong.
