Help

I hired a nanny a while ago. She worked for me 3 days a week, except that the first week, she was out the 3rd day because she was hospitalized with complications from her diabetes.

Two weeks later, she was out again, hospitalized again. This time, she was in the hospital for more than 2 weeks.

We mutually agreed to part ways, and she agreed to return a couple of things she had of mine (a booster seat, a clicker to my garage door, and a placard-thing that lets her pick my kid up at school) after she had surgery scheduled for the next week.

She texted me a week or two later and asked me to pay her for the one day she'd worked and not been paid for, and told me she'd get my stuff to me the next week. I (foolishly, in retrospect) transferred money into her account.

It's been more than 2 months now. I can't get my stuff back. She won't answer my texts or my calls or my emails.

I know it's not more than $100 worth of stuff. But I want it back.

Any ideas?

Tell her you'll pick the stuff up at her place on a certain date (by phone, text email, and letter), threaten a police report, and then make one.

ETA: It probably goes without saying, but I would reprogram the garage door opener.

ETFA: I assume there's no possibility that she's so sick and in the hospital that she can't return the stuff .. .

And, it also goes w/o saying, do the re-programming before making any threats.

Is there a reason not to drop by and try to pick it up before threatening the police?

You know you can see some people's pages without them being your friend? I think it's if they are in the same network as you or something.

From the sounds of it, she should get one more chance (I get the stuff or else) rather than two.

And by "threaten" I meant something like "I've asked repeatedly and would like to pick my stuff up. I don't want to go to the hassle of taking further steps, such as filing a police report for theft. I plan to stop by on Sunday, but if you prefer another time please let me know when would be convenient."

Oatmeal raising is the worst of the traditional cookie flavors. The order is as follows:

Peanut Butter
Chocolate chip
Sugar
Chocolate
Oatmeal

This is not open to interpretation. My apologies.

Can't you write on her wall that you'd like the "things back that she has stolen from you"? Then, all of her facebook friends will know she's a thief.

Have her arrested. Or, since she's a diabetic, threaten her with oatmeal cookies.

I think her personal assistant monitors the facebook page set up to deal with the help. And on that page, she's "friends" with her butler who has the maid in his network. The maid is friends with the chauffeur, who befriended the gardner, who accepted the criminal nanny as a friend before he knew she was a thief.

It's really quite simple.

The question her other personal assistant has to answer is whether or not she's been updating the friend status on the page she has to associate with her employees. Surely the employees who missed that awesome movie outing need to be removed.

There should be no nuts in any of these cookies. But I make no apologies for peanut butter being the king of the cookies. Facts is facts.

Oh, the TITS are fabulous. Sure, milk comes flying out for seemingly any reason at any time: baby cries, baby smiles, baby is hungry, I am hungry, I am having sex, I am thinking about having sex, I am sleeping, I am wearing a silk shirt, [insert reason here]......

At their best they do look like really nice implants though.

I agree 100%.

And here is an interesting study that shows that overweight women have more sex than "normal-sized" women. http://jezebel.com/5072249/study-sho...e-the-most-sex

I wish they had defined "overweight" -- the jezebel thing was definitely acting like overweight meant obese, but I doubt it.

There was a quote referencing body mass index, so I took it to be defined as BMI>25, but that's an assumption.

Is the second sentence really necessary? Would you (or bnb) actually file a police report in such a case? If you wouldn't do it, don't threaten to do it. It's much more obnoxious than the situation warrants. Sounds like the former nanny is lazy, not larcenous.
