Shit, I saw that with four generations of Womyn in our family, including Great Grandma and the crying got so bad we were ululating like crazy Arab women (oh, wrong board). Could. Not. Stop. The words of the lady who let her baby boy drown? ("My daughter had no spirit because I had no spirit to give her.") And the young girl going to China to bring her sisters the hopes and dreams of their mother?

To Mr. Boss, you're communicating sort of a mixed message, I think.

What a sobfest. I get a little verklempt just sitting here thinking about it.

The scene in the kitchen when the mother tells June she has a "top quality heart" made me sob out loud. IN THE THEATRE! The friend who went with me pretended she didn't know me. (I can't really blame her - I'd've done the same thing.)

Are they deeper or wider?

Most women prefer wider.

Daniel Craig, a 37-year-old, sandy-haired Englishman was introduced Friday as the new James Bond, ending months of speculation. He’ll star in “Casino Royale,” directed by Martin Campbell, due out next year.

“I had a couple of martinis when I found out,” said Craig, who replaces Pierce Brosnan in the role of the suave spy.

I loved Casino Royale.

Golf Notables

How often do you see an ace from the leader of a golf tournament? Briny Baird drained one today (right after two bogeys) to increase his tournament leading score from -12 to -14. (and yes, I have money on him, as well as Jason Gore, this week).

On to the PICKS OF THE WEEK

College: As the Wisconsin game is off the board, we're going with two road favorites (but one is at a kind of neutral site).

Oklahoma -6.5 over Kansas (at Arrowhead).
Alabama -13.5 at Ole Miss.

Pros:

BILLS/JETS Under 33
CHARGERS -2
CHARGERS Over 50.5

I'm also stunned at the line for the MNF game. Are the Rams that bad in road dome games that they're getting 13.5 points? Sure their defense can't stop anybody, but the Colts don't exactly run up the score. Thinking about a play here -- how can you not tease the Rams?

I can't believe I forgot It's a Wonderful Life.

Because they don't have a coach. He's out. Maybe for the rest of the year.

This tops Breakfast At Tiffany's for most contrived. Well done.

I was wondering who would be the first to make this remark. I should have known it would be you.

My kids are all upset because the "original Bond" is now gone.

Meaning, Brosnan, of course.

I could scream.
