Well, yes, there is the "interrogation" meaning, like you describe. There is also the meaning that implies skepticism: "I question whether she was really able to have sex while asleep." But, it just seems incorrect, or at least archaic, to use "question" as a synonym for "ask." But, I'll say no more about this because I REALLY do not want to get on ABBA'a bad side!!!!!!!!!!!!
