No. It doesn't.

My kids go to public school. The public high school, however, is CRAP.

I don't give a frog's fat ass about your opinion as to where I send my children to high school. And I don't give a shit where your kid goes.

My point in the original post was that, despite having a familiarity with lots of boarding schools, as the town where I live has 8 of them within 30 minutes' drive of me (lots of public events take place there, elementary kids have sports practices there, etc.), Exeter was so far beyond my expectations, it surprised me. Perhaps if you'd gone to Exeter, you could have figured that out.

Oh, wait. You're above lowering yourself to that sort of elitist education. Whatever. More space for my kids!

Figured you'd react this way. I don't care if your kids go to Fair Eastside or Exeter. You just sounded like a fucking douchebag. But you often do, so I suppose you don't really realize it. And I pointed out that almost everyone I've met who sends their kid to a place like Exeter is or sounds like an elitist asshole. If that's what you're going for, nice work!

As for my kid, I don't really talk about her because it's none of anyone's business and people generally don't find the topic of other people's children appealing (unless they specifically ask). I suppose you don't really realize this either. Suffice it to say that she will be well educated and her mother and I will supplement her education as we see fit to make up for any shortfall in her formal education.

I'll probably say nothing, but I thought the scenario interesting.

Do you want to see her? Sounds like you kinda do. If you didn't, I don't think the thought would even cross your mind to mention it to her.

Loafers?

I can see him in a pair of AE penny loafers. Or rather I can picture Michael Landon (in a tee shirt and board shorts) wearing AE penny loafers.

With room. Roomy. Room for cream.

What is so hard about that??!!

maybe they're hinting you're getting a bit too chubby, and should stop with the cream?

Possibly. I did get on the podium this Sunday in a local (suburban) 5k. Shameful shameful bronze though. Overall, not age group (suck it, dtb's husband!).

The guy who won it beat me by over three minutes.

You see Sebby as Michael Landon? I'm not sure who I see, but not someone so wholesome. PS what was Sebby's old avatar? He had it forever and I've forgotten this quickly.

Only because he has claimed his hair is like Landon's.

It was Patrick Bateman from American Psycho.

I'll probably say nothing, but I thought the scenario interesting. A long time ago, I was her supervisor.

This is a really dumb question. Are you sure you're ready for this?

2. Agreed, and this is an error on the parents' part. That network doesn't hold very tightly, so far as this non-network person has observed. Nobody I know who went to those places is leapfrogging based on HS connections. College, being more immediate during one's initial job search, is more important.

Seriously? You can't think of any reason other than "parental bragging" and "networking" that you'd send a child to a boarding school? That's rather sad. I would have loved going to boarding school, and not for either of the above reasons. Yes, I'm a nerd, but the world needs nerds, too.

The world's quota of posers who look down their noses at others, however, seems to be full.

Congratulations. I didn't ask, but thanks for sharing. We're all so interested in your judgmental screeds -- please continue! Funny that you use the word "douchebag", as that's how I've described you to others many, many times. Guess it takes one to know one. Well done!

PS -- Generalizing an entire group of people based upon "almost everyone you know" is not considered, uh.. let's just say "logically sound". I guess you're more of a Judgmental Douchebag, not just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill douchebag.

Keep it comin' Grandma!

Thanks, NotBob, that's it exactly. The reverse poser. [Eyeroll.] What a joke. You do this much better than I do.

(AoN, it will surprise no one -- but not Know Won -- that I like She & Him. Mock away.)

Oh, Not Bob. The best thing I can say in your defense is that I would have unhesitatingly accepted no-strings-attached unsolicited fellatio from Weeds-era Deschanel. As for Tegan and Sara, I don't know them, but I did find this snappy Tiesto number featuring them:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0LO6v43YCo

When I hear it, I see in my mind a shirtless Thurgreed wearing painted-on silver lame pants and a rainbow feathered headdress, brandishing a rhinestome-encrusted bull-whip and lyp-syncing the tune while standing on the roof of a turquoise Toyota Prius that is slowly being pulled down the middle of Fifth Avenue by a team of unicorns. Is it just me?

I think you're just intimidated because Exeter is so well endowed.

Actually, my experience has been the people who I have met who send their kids to Exeter and Choate NEVER say so unless you ask.
