A final draft of the report, which is due to be presented to parliament later this month, was made available to Reuters on Thursday by the commission president, Senator Paolo Guzzanti.

"This commission believes, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the leadership of the Soviet Union took the initiative to eliminate Pope John Paul," the report said.

If Berlusconi told them to conclude that it was put together by the Boys from Brazil, working in tandem with Nessie and an Illuminati splinter group of lesbian ninjas, it would have been a much more interesting report and probably just as reliable. Not that I doubt the commies coulda done it, but an Italian parliamentary commission is all of a sudden the last word?

The Italians had some really good information about SH's attempts to acquire yellowcake uranium from Niger.

Stop it, both of you. Take out 'Italian" from the last two posts and put in "Irish" or "scrawny little dim queer" and see how you feel.

Is the ad hominem stuff just because I'm here? I feel bad that my intimidating intellectual presence might be lowering the tone. :( I'm not here to judge, Hank, so you shouldn't be scared to try some of your more nuanced and thoughtful material, even if it flops.

You forgot the Gnomes of Zurich and the Trilateral Commission.

Shoot, my take on the report was "this is new?" I was under the impression that everyone pretty much knew that the Soviets were behind it, with the KGB using the Bulgarian secret police as their proxies.

Even that movie with Jon Voight as the Pope blamed the Soviets. Sheesh.

Yeah, well not all of us are as hooked-in to the international espionage scene as you are, Mr. Le Carre. Plus also I never bought Voight as PJPII for a minute.

Do you really think for a second the Reds would hire a Turk to do their dirty work?

I didn't think so.

You've eaten Domino's? I mean, since you were old enough to order pizza yourself?

That, along with Coors, is one of the easiest boycotts I've ever had the pleasure of participating in. If someone could find a reason to boycott Red Bull I'd have a trifecta going.

You buy that crap? It might make good cheap roofing material but beyond that....

Dammit - weed beat me to it.

Choose your own response:

1. It's a Brangelina thing, isn't it?

2. Champ! Wake up, Champ!

3. But he believes that God believes in Claude.
