Anyway, that was almost 18 years ago, and she had a rough time of it at first and so did her son. The greatest time of stability for her son was when she remarried someone who would never ever think of doing such a thing. Not financial stability, because she is wildly successful, but emotional stability and security, which no amount of money can buy.

I thought Abba's breakup was post-birth-of-daughter (not that it makes it any better), but maybe I'm mistaken.

One of my good friends discovered that her husband was cheating on her when she was 6 months pregnant (and also had, at the time, preschool aged twins). She kicked his ass out.

My friend has since remarried to a great guy who was not at all scared off by the thought of being with a single mom of 3.

There is life after this. You just need to get on to it.

Keeps you on your toes. Constant risk and all.

Less, back me up on this.

Less can do an 8ball anywhere

What should I get a bright 13-year-old boy (a relation, so nothing dirty) for Xmas? He is not permitted M games but they have a Wii. I don't want to spend a ton.

Pine, Walnut, Oak - it doesn't matter

Sorry. I can't read anything like this anymore and not think of Penske (i.e. Larry David) riffing on how he "respects wood"

If he's into sports, the sports games are good in that they mimic the body movements used in real games. Hockey, baseball, boxing are pretty good.

Not so much. More a little nerd. I will keep in mind for his sporty little brother.

My son really likes the Wii Mario (e.g., Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers Brawl) games as well as the Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones games. But he's a bit younger.

I have Super Galaxy and so do they. Hmmm. I'm kinda going for cheap, too. I think the 13 y o gets that.

ETA They lack Guitar Hero and I have it. Maybe letting them play it would be good.

Does he have a DS? The games are less expensive.

i invented a game 15 years ago, that i call "Bartime". you go to a bar and have to wind your way through the crowd to a bar, get, and drink, two drinks, then do some tasks to convince a woman to leave with you. then you have to drive to "her place."

there are several levels, and it's complicated since the women change and so do the locations of their "places."

the levels aren't harder per se, BUT, as you have more and more drinks your controls get less and less responsive, so it's harder to get to the bar, and do tasks and drive since the joystick becomes sloppy.

if your son knows how to code video games you can tell him my idea for a gift- I'll charge you $35. OR you can wait for me to get to completing the game. I can't see why it wouldn't work on wii.
