...there appears to be some discord in the Not Family.

Back in the day, Not Mom used to resolve these sort of spats in a neutral and impartial manner. She would simply smack either Not Nick or me -- whichever one of us was closer to her -- without even pretending to care about who started it, who was at fault, whatever. If someone said "he started it!" she would smack him again, and say "well, I'm finishing it!"

But did you have to have Goren & Emes' replacement (who sucks, btw) go after ANOTHER thinly veiled black lying NYC journalist? ENOUGH ALREADY. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY DOESN'T CARE.

This reminds me of the time we were dining at Le Moulin de Ponceau in Chartres, and Michael asked for "la pâtisserie a formé comme un cygne," and the waiter nearly fell into the millstream from laughing, because what he had actually said was "formé comme une singe." Oh, how we laughed!

Good times, good times.

Next week on "French Is Humorous," I'll tell you of the time Napoleon accidentally consigned 1,200 Turkish prisoners of war to death when he cursed his persistent coughing fit with "Ma sacrée toux!," or how "French in Action" inadvertently caused me to believe that "Ça va a la faculte" meant "black man in a brown three-piece suit" for many years.

or the time looking for GAre de nord, i asked a chap "Ou est Guerre?" he launched into a long diatribe, yes I can assure you.

but on a serious note, once calling a new client in Paris, i'm prepared for the conversation:

"bon jour"
"parlez vous ingles?"

well, I get out the bon jour and I hear ""bon jour???????" in almost a bronz accent.

so panicy I say "um yes this is Paris isn't it, i'mcalling from the united States."

well Frenchy must not have realized where the call was from, because she lauched back into a French accent at this point. So anyway i don't think they really speak french except when we're around. NTTAWWT.
