I always considered this a bullshit rule myself. And the game lacks sufficient physical contact and excitement the way it is. They should allow you to interfere all you like.

Once we have agreed that it is unacceptable in all circumstances, the question is, why does it happen? Well, it seems to happen in places where fans are very passionate about their teams. It seems to happen in those places when fans think their team is getting screwed. Why did they think they were getting screwed last night? Because the call made no sense without watching the replay and it was a huge game and is a huge series. Yankees fans aren't the worst because a few idiots in the crowd threw baseballs on the field. Yankees fans are the worst because they are, by and large, arrogant because our team wins so much.

I saw two Detroit business looking guys trying to pick a fight with a Laker fan in the Executive club at the Palace during the finals. On the other hand, when the Tigers were good I remember vocal fans for the other team getting some serious shit at Tiger stadium. When the Tigers were good if you came into Tiger stadium wearing a Yankee's or Sox jersey, you would at least get drenched in beer. Right now a Yankee fan could probably go into Tiger Stadium and throw balls at OUR players and no one would care.

If it's too short to be of any use when it's thick, making it slightly longer but also slightly thinner would not be an improvement.

And, pup, I opted not to point out that wanking madly's descriptions were not parallel. But since you bring it up . . . fibrous refers to texture and tasty refers to flavor. Since I'm not planning on biting through, let alone chewing, the fibrousness is a non-issue. As long as it's not affirmatively un-tasty, I'm good. It's not really about the flavor, at least for me. It's more a mouthfeel thing.

I disagree. I don't like the Yankees in theory because they buy pennants, but then they redeem themselves by coming close to grasping defeat from the jaws of victory, as they're presently doing. Besides, you need a marquis team to hate. The Yankees fill that role.

The most annoying fans alive are IMO,

1. Braves fans. If baseball were a housing development, the Braves would be the biggest ugliest McMansion of all. You want to talk about a bought-and-paid-for team...

2. Duke fans. You wanted to go there and didn't get in. You got rejected... why the hell do you still have a hard on for the place? If college basketball were music, Duke would be Dave Matthews.

3. Eagles fans. Yeh, this year you have something to really get excited about, but you'd stupidly tell me how "awesome the Birds are gonna be" if half their offense died in a plane crash.

4. Notre Dame fans. See "Duke" above. You morons have forced me to watch your shitty team (albeit I like Ty) for years when NBC should have been broadcasting real games. And year in year out, you get more ranking inflation than UCLA.
