Tiger

Did anyone else see on the "news" this morning that a blond woman was taken from Tiger's house to the hospital this morning and later released? What needs to happen for them to stop hounding that family? Tiger may deserve it. But, Jesus. At this point, you're just trying to drive every other innocent member of his family completely insane.

Why not buy the supplies in a group buy beforehand? You could blind it by having the non-cooks do the buying. That way no one spends time driving around like a maniac.

Or do a mystery box kind of thing.

[seasonal cynic]Naw, you'll just be making some Toys for Tot volunteer a little richer.** You may as well sell them on ebay or Craigslist and either use the money to buy more toys or give the cash to the charity of your choice.

**You just know someone would pull them out and sell them on ebay.[/seasonal cynic]

So long as the first step is not cutting a hole in the box.

Yes, although weren't these just reporters who are already camped out there just trying to justify the fact that they're still camped out there?

Also, the plan is to announce the ingrediant at noon so that the cooks can plan a bit and buy supplies. Then cooking starts at 5 and must be done, say at 8. Ideas to supplement or change this basic format?

I think on the actual Iron Chef they give the chefs a list of 3 or 4 possible ingredients so they can plan a little bit ahead. That is also one of the suggestions for an Iron Chef party here http://www.ehow.com/how_2099430_host...hef-party.html**

Disagree. Unless you paying for airbags, an unbent fame and known mileage "pissing money away."

If you do buy used you have to get the car inspected from a mechanic you trust. Don't just get a carfax because I would say 99% of all rollbacks don't get detected by carfax. Many accidents don't get reported to carfax. Watch for a car that was originally registered in state A, then got moved to state B. Watch for buybacks. Watch for cars that have unrealistic mileage reports. In any case, if a car really is a lease return by a little old lady who drove it to church on Sunday, the discount won't be that dramatic.

My family's worth pissing away a few bucks a month for.

I think "mystery box" is just another euphemism for getting some "strange." I think she is suggesting you scrap the cooking idea and have a key party.

I was speaking more broadly. The reporting of every fucking salacious detail. "He fucked me against the wall in every room in his house (except the master bedroom)." That type of shit. It's beyond the pale and it's ridiculous that everyone in the world has to know that stuff. It seems to me the goal is to keep them from staying together in hopes of having the "Elin has had enough!" scoop.

Yes, Tiger is a public figure (and with that comes a certain amount of intrusion on his privacy). And yes, he's wrong for cheating with so many skanks who he should have known would profit off his name and his dick. But at some point, where are your fucking ethics as a journalist (even a fake one)? No one should have to put up with this shit, especially not his family.

No, I did not employ any of their services.

Why not?

ETA: Isn't that part of the appeal of the city in the first place? It's like going to Switzerland and failing to buy a watch or Montreal and skipping the poutine . . .

I agree, but it's not exactly new with Tiger. We had Spitzer's hooker talking about how he liked his sex, too. I guess it drives webhits. Imagine that.
