You don't have to actually reply to every post that references you or replies to a post of yours. If you wait for TM to stop, this fight will never end. He has been known to go for weeks on an argument about a particular baseball play, for instance.

I think that was mainly TM's point yesterday and Hank's point today, anyway. The cocktail party thing was, for the most part, lame. And by replying to every post on the theme, you helped carry it to dead horseville.

But, by all means, carry on with the flamewar if that suits your mood. I have work to do anyway.

Besides, I don't even know why you're getting upset about me criticizing you. You know who your socks are.

Scroll by them. Those first 1000 posts can't be any more bereft of worthwhile content than Fringey's 10,000 posts and you survive the pro rata allocation of those on a daily basis.

I'm sure we would all agree there is the possibility of gold to be mined from a dozen post long exchange about internet romances, using a cocktail party as a tableau for the fantasy, and potential infidelity. I can hardly wait for the next occurenece, as it is a very rich source of great posts.

I think all that Thurgreed was saying is that particular mine of material might have proven a dry hole.

I think they pick a winner next week, so no more voting. You were totally right about Mig and the whole theatrical thing. It's a good thing he never got to sing an INXS song before, because he really sucked at it. It's clear that the Australian vote kept him in there so long.

And I really like Pretty Vegas, it's really catchy. More than trees, which is just OK. But I love Marty. You're right, he's better off losing, starting his own band and doing stuff like Pearl Jam. I can totally hear him singing Evenflow or Jeremy.

Do you think the numbers go up or down now that you all are through law school?
  • 57 Percent Of College Girls Want To Sleep With Angelina Jolie
NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Here’s some kinky news for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: A lot of female college students want to sleep with them. Both of them.
According to Playboy magazine, 54 percent of college gals would cheat on their boyfriend with Pitt and 57 percent want to get jiggy with Jolie.

Meanwhile, 26 percent of the gals would sleep with Justin Timberlake.

23 percent have the hots for Britney Spears, the same percentage that would usher Usher into their bed.

20 percent would say “oh yes” to The O.C. star Adam Brody.

12 percent want to spend a night in Paris Hilton.

Finally, Beyonce Knowles may be “Bootylicious” but only four percent of co-eds want to sleep with her.

So, a friend of mine has a gf (long distance) and she wants to give him a gift, in the form of a threesome. They've tried a few times to rope a third girl in. One time with a stripper, but that fell through when she said she was only a lesbian.

Another time they spent like five hours with a couple at some swingers bar. The potential other girl's guy wanted to watch her with someone else and she was all for it (or so it seemed), and I think the three of them even fooled around a bit at the club. Unfortunately, the couple excused themselves to go to the bathroom before they were all supposed to go back to the hotel room and just disappeared. (Doh.)

So, finally, this guy is in a good situation. He and his gf are in Vegas and have a hot girl interested (she's hotter than his gf, which, as you will see, isn't good). She's all for it. They talk for a long time and he pounds straight vodka after vodka (I guess to loosen himself up). He ends up toe-up-drunk. Shit faced. But that's okay, because they're all still on their way back to the room to get it on.

Back at the hotel, this guy gets into a fight with his gf and says (no joke), the following: "You know, I don't really even want you involved in this at all." GF leaves. Other girl leaves. He passes out.

When he wakes up the next morning, he doesn't remember anything past getting in the cab. His gf is gone and is not answering her phone. Six hours pass and he finally gets a call from his gf right before he boards his flight. She tells him that they're done. Finished. Kaput. (A few days later she tells him why.)

First of all, why get that drunk? Wouldn't you want to be able to enjoy it or at least remember it?

Second of all, there's really nothing to say about his comment other than to ask, "Did he really want to have one?" I mean, that's just inexcusable.

Other comments?

Sounds pretty profoundly stupid. Only explanation that makes sense offhand is that he didn't realize that he was drinking that much, that quickly, and would get shitfaced. Getting that shitfaced introduces the real risk of dumbass tactical errors.
