First you cite the NYT approvingly, because you think it supports you.

Then, Ty points out that you miscited it. So, you say the NYT must be lying. In fact, their lie is so bad that it proves that the reverse of what they said (i.e., what you said) is true.

And this is without even talking about what you said about the NYT last week.

You and the NYT have a very complicated relationship. Any day now, I expect the Editorial Board to start cyber-stalking you. Then they'll quit their jobs for a stand-up comedy gig.

Why would pro-war vets go down to the Mall for the rally? They'd get spit on. That's what I heard.

On the positive side, Slave's careful use of sources means that he could work at a free-market think tank writing articles on Global Warming.

What was "approving" of my cite? I merely noted that the NYT reported that a vet was spit on by the crowd that GGG depicted so glowingly. If asked, I would have also said that the paper's rescutation of "tens of thousands" was laughable given the police estimate of the crowd.

If Ty pointed that out - Ty is wrong and he owes me a burrito.

I wasn't before - but now I'm saying the NYT was lying (about the crowd size). I'm also saying that its probable that they only bothered to interview an unrepresentative sample of vets.

You really are still hungover - you arent making any sense.

I retracted my statement (about the content of the Times editorials) because I couldnt immediately find what I was looking for and I wasnt going to waste more than 10 minutes reading that crap. That its op-ed page is a cessspool of Anti-american drivel, and that the paper itself engages in behavior bordering on treason (and condemned by Barney Calame) is something else entirely.

You said "vets" (plural), but no one was spit on:
  • There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration’s policies in Iraq.

Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back.

NYT.

Let's meet for lunch. You can buy the burrito.

Are Ginsburgs days numbered.......if so, bring on JRB indeed!

The most likely contenders if Bush gets another nomination are Judges Priscilla Owen or Janice Rogers Brown.

I was actually rather impressed with Huckabee on the Sunday talk shows this week. He seemed sincere, reasonable and articulate.

Of course, I know nothing else about him.

You reading a site that says that, "well, Brownback doesn't suck" is like Slave reading DailyKos.

Don't you people get enough aggravation in your work and personal lives?

I saw him too and no nothing about him, but he came off as very reasonable. I also saw Rudy speak in NH this week on CSPAN. He has my early vote and it would be great to see the match that never took place in NY a few years back.

You think Rudy can get the nomination?

I have to say, as a Dem, if our candidate is going to lose, I would rather it be to Rudy than to someone like Brownback.
