I may be wrong, but I think Thurgreed's point was that it is not a coincidence that class lines follow race lines closely. The parallel is not only intentional, but reflective of the fact that one of the things the upper classes have done is work hard to ensure that Blacks, Hispanics, and other races have limited opportunities for upward mobility. Hence the discomfort so many people of the upper classes have in the company of minorities who wind up in their world.

I think it's hysterical you're speaking for all minorities. Minorities aren't a monolith on this or anything else, and among ten of them, I'm pretty confident you'll find three or four different positions on how they'd like to be considered and described.

I defer to your clearly superior knowledge of the topic.

But don't fall into this "I don't see race," fallacy. It's perfectly okay to describe someone to another person using their race. It's part of who they are. "Deb is the tall, black woman who sits on 4," is very different than, "I was out late last night with my black friend, Deb." As you, of course, know, minorities don't expect or want their differences to be ignored. They want them respected. And they expect to not be judged unfairly based on the stereotypes such differences evoke.

Absolutely. Especially when "not seeing" a characteristic can often mean removing a really important part of who someone is.

You know what would be awesome? "Picabo Incognito."

But I'm not sure you can call that "racism." You don't really know what the homeowner was thinking. It could have been a practical joke gone bad. Or some kind of tribal thing. That stuff happens all the time.

Some of us have been focused on Sacha Kljestan’s pornstache for a while, but now the story has really broken out.

Sorry, but if you let someone talk to you like that you're a fucking pussy who has no place in an NFL locker room.

Speaking of soccer, holy fuck Dynamo!! I wasn't expecting them to pull off a win in New York after only drawing here. That was awesome. Bring on Kansas City!

Movember is a great excuse for any mistakes like that, or just because you felt like not shaving that day.

(It is not, however, an excuse to have a prostate exam on live television).
