MERIDIAN, Miss., July 8 — An employee brandishing at least two weapons opened fire at the Lockheed Martin plant here Tuesday, killing at least six people, including himself, authorities said.
Eddie Smith, a reporter for WMOX radio in Meridian, told MSNBC TV the gunman, who was dressed in camouflage, shot 14 people all told, killing five of them, before turning one of his guns on himself. Smith quoted sheriff’s officials as saying the shooting resulted from a domestic dispute.

Yes. At 10pm I was wondering how they could possibly drag out the exciting climax for another hour. Well, let Rob and the girls speak was the answer.

BTW, do you think they at least scripted a requirement that he use the word "but" after five minutes of speaking for both amazing girls?
After the first 6 minute spiel to Pa(i)ge, when it became clear that they were going to show his ramble to Erin before revealing how it came out, I turned to the fiancee and said "fast forward it." She said no. I said, no, I'm serious, fast forward it, and she again replied no. Finally I said "I'm going to punch you in the face if you don't fast forward it." That didn't get me anywhere. I went to the bookshelf and grabbed "The Bretheren" and amused myself for awhile.

Oh, yeah, that old trick again. "Go to my personal web page, and first, type in your secret screen name, followed shortly thereafter by your real name."

Too tired. Everybody knows by now it's just a cute way to find out who everyone really is. NOBODY is going to fall for this again.

Just got back from a hearing.....groan.....

Anyhow, the "pet hotel" is quite nice. They sleep on couches at this big ranch house out in the country. I'd tell you the name of the place, but you'd probably take the last available slot when I need to drop her off next time.

Anyhow, I dont feel guilty. And no, no dibs on the bed. That's reserved for Mrs. Ebola and Little Ebola.

Poll: Best Casting Ever

Last night I was watching VH-1 Classic again (insert Serenity Prayer here) and saw a clip from an old Doors concert film. I was struck by how absolutely perfect Val Kilmer was playing Jim Morrison. It wasn't just the face --- he was Jim Morrison, all kooky and creepy, a feat completely improbable for a guy named "Val."

I nominate Val Kilmer in "The Doors" for a proposed poll: Best Casting Ever ("Real" Person). Nominees must have inhabited the persona of another known person.

Runner up is Gary Cole playing Robert Reed playing Mike Brady in the otherwise awful Brady Bunch movies --- Shelley Long comported herself well, too. Special award to Jim Carrey playing Dick York playing Darren and Nicole Kidman playing Elizabeth Montgomery playing Samantha in their "Bewitched" project, if it gets made.

Jimmy spends how many years perfecting the "Val" look, and all you can do is praise Val?

(The kooky, creepy look is merely the product of different drug regimens finally achieving complementary stasis. I think Val had a . . . er, . . . "head" start on this role.)

I spend all this time and money to balance my yin and yang to achieve the perfect creepy look, and you're telling me I should have been worried about equipoise on my amp/goofer axis?

"Best" in the classic sense? Or "Best" in the "I can't help watching this no matter how many times it's on TV" sense? Because in the latter case, it's hands-down, and forever, Faye Dunaway in "Mommie Dearest."

I *still* use plastic hangers as a result of that movie.

Agree on Gary Busey. Got an Oscar nomination for that.

Hard to believe that's the same drug-addled, brain damaged (or both) guy on "I'm With Busey" on Comedy Central nowadays...
