I was very surprised when the once and future ex suggested I look at Suburus this summer and even more surprised by how nice they were. They are very popular among athletes for the awd and gear-hauling capacity, and they look pretty cool with ski and bike racks.

I momentarily wondered how many former Mr. Bunnies there have been on the boards. Then I snapped out of it.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

All wheel drive? No. Gear-hauling? Yes.

Actually, AWD if we're talking about winter sports.

So yes.

Since e/o likes her men like her coffee, rugged and bold (or whatever), sports might include such pansy activities as rock climbing, mountain biking, and off-road hot-oil wrestling.

Aha. thanks, Coltrane.

Yeah except I don't know why all wheel drive would appeal specifically to athletes (and I'm assuming she's talking about non-professional ones) more than nonathletes. Fugee Mom bought her Suburu for the AWD on winter country roads.

ETA posted too slow.

FWIW I got shorted on the "halle actually being mutant probably helped her get the X-man role" post.

Hank, sometimes brilliant things don't catch on with the public.
Look at Ishtar. Take some comfort in that.

Oh right. Mountains. I've forgotten what they look like.

Still haven't used the House-in-Breckenridge wedding gift. Stupid kids.

I don't get the gear hauling. What athletic gear needs to be hauled? Kayak? A boat if you water-ski? A mountain bike? All the shit I think of that athletes need fits in the trunk of almost any car.

As for winter sports and awd, okay. I suppose. "Athlete" seems like a strange shorthand for "person who may drive in the snow a lot."

Bikes, skis, snowboards, surfboards, etc.

A bike is not fitting in the trunk unless you take it apart.

That was actually pretty funny.

Btw, Halle got a nose job, just to bring it all back, full circle.

We all know Fugee Mom is a nationally-ranked extreme snowboarder. No need to be coy about it.

Yes. That's why I put it on the list.

I guess I just think "track, basketball, football, baseball, hockey, soccer, etc." when I think, "athlete."
