That seems odd, given that this particular athletic BF lives in Texas. But what do I know, I'm not an accomplished athlete.

He trains and competes elsewhere.

Oh right. Mountains. I've forgotten what they look like.

Still haven't used the House-in-Breckenridge wedding gift. Stupid kids.

I have no such excuse for not using the Taos place. And they even capitulated on the no-snowboarding thing, so my boyfriend's lack of skiing ability isn't even an issue anymore.

Realistically--Depends a *bit* on the location and purpose of the fundraiser and where you're staying. Presuming (I think safely) a Michigan Avenue/Loop sort of location, you will not be out of place in fur, altho I do not see a *lot* of fur coats.

Although I would check to make sure PETA isn't planning a protest for the time you're here.

Good point. I will probably wear wool to the event itself, as it is a political fundraiser and it will be obnoxious enough to have all of us flying in from out of state.

The rest of the time, I care only about being warm.

I hope it's not Lance. He's an asshole.

Plus, New Mexico is awesome.

Funny, I didn't say the word "new" in my original post. And lord knows everyone else talks about the new hubby who knocked them up and likes Buicks, the boyfriend who can calendar his anal on Tuesdays...etc etc

You may feel out of place wearing a fancy fur around town during the day.

"Everyone" else who talks about that takes some teasing for it -- though they appear to take it better than you. I guess regular buttsex will give a girl a sense of humor.

In fairness to Hank, he's just excited.

I love to hear about people's relationships here.* I think people bristle at you dropping in several "we" references instead of just coming out and talking about the person, but you probably would be picked on no matter how you did it. However, by my calculations either he is "new" or you took back the cheating ex- who you walked in on during the act. Please tell me he is new.

*Relationship posts are among the best fodder here!!

I seem to recall someone (GWNC?) saying she needed a humor injection. I knew we could come up with a plan.

It depends upon location of the "around town"-ing and whether it's actually cold (teens or lower). If it's 40+ and/or your outside of certain areas, then you'd be right.
