This is why Clinton should have been prosecuted after leaving office, and why so many others should be starting next week.

I predict that no one at the top will be prosecuted and likely very few or none of anyone will be. I don't believe Obama is just giving political lip service to (i) the concept of moving beyond the last 8 years, while assimilating the lessons of what not to do, or (ii) focusing on the important tasks at hand.

If he wants to save the economy, extract us from Iraq, act as a good faith broker in the Middle east, maintain the GWoT where it needs to be maintained, India-Pakistan,,,,environment etc etc et al, sinking into the most partisan of partisan political rancor on day one or even day 301 is not going to be a productive strategy.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I stand by that prediction. Book mark it so you can call me out as moron when Bush gets frogmarched out of Crawford.

That wouldn't help focus attention on the current problems, would it?

I agree, there is no alternative universe to play it out. I also agree that Bush and co screwed the pooch here. royally. in a bad way. But, I am curious, do you think the State and local governments have any responsibility at all?

2, although I think we should at least give them access to some arms, in a nod to the second amendment and just general principles of equity.

I don't think so, although it would certainly keep me up past midnight flipping between CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews, CNBC et al.
