the only people who should be working when there is a hurricane in the area are those weather channel reporters and the camera crews. speaking of which, being a reporter for the weather channel might even be a cooler job than being a tornado chaser. although i guess you would have the downside of having to go to buffalo in the winter to cover some blizzard. i really should have taken more meterology classes in college.

Read the previous messages. The clear theme posted by Watchtower was that perhaps our unlucky-in-marriage guy should consult a priest. The immediate response, and follow-up, was that priests are not very useful, that watchtower was part of the religious and christian facist variety, that any information not pertaining to waxing, number of partners, etc., should be discussed elsewhere, and that watchtower's opinion constituted something that the only the puritans would have condoned.

The diatribe was summarized by the "does your neighborhood allow dancing" comment.

Fucking-A right you are. Why can't life be more like when we were kids and used to pray for horrible weather so that school would be canceled and we could stay home? Now shitty weather just means that I have to fucking drive to work in it with all of the other minions and risk my neck in the office when there are tornado sirens going off (or an ice storm or, in your case, a hurricane). And what happened to summer vacation and spring break? Now it just means trying to work out childcare arrangements. How can anyone have a vacation when we blow all of our vacation time covering the school holidays.

It is almost 90 and sunny here-- that's the problem. I should be out with the top down blowing by pigs and flashing the fuck you sign at them. I should be at home, naked, floating in a pool chaise slugging back brewskies and reading trashy books. I should not be here. I don't wanna be a big girl anymore. Of course, then I suppose I wouldn't have the convertible or the pool to float in so....this sucks. MOMMY!!!!

Being a flaming atheist, I feel qualified to comment here.

JJLC was cutting pretty close to the bone with the rather offensive replies to the door-knocker. No one jumped him for that. If we are going to get our noses out of joint for offense merely because of the inclusion of one word and ignore (and maybe even chuckle at) equally bad offense sans some trigger word, we are being a bit shallow.

As I said earlier, the post is rife with it. The situation came to a head with the dancing comment - regardless of whether it came from a movie or not.
