And I think fluidity is important to a casual fan. They want to see someone do amazing things. Elton Brand puts up fantastic numbers every night, but no one cares b/c he's BORING to watch (not saying LeGlenn is boring - but he isn't AMAZING). Jordan was faster and could jump higher than anyone we'd ever seen. LeStan is not. Yet. He's incredibly talented, but he's not yet amazing.

But you could come back with Bird again. You're right, he wasn't fluid. Unless he was shooting. That was a thing to watch.

For what it's worth, I went to a wedding this weekend, and the couple started out exactly like that. They're not longer working at the same place, but pretty much the entire department from where they used to work showed up for the wedding. She was very patient with him (and got good sex in the process) and eventually neither one of them could imagine life without the other. He freaked out a little when she made it known that she was not adverse to formalizing things a little more, and I think it took him some time to come to grips with the fact that it really wasn't just the good sex that kept him coming back to her. His friends universally agreed that she was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Say to him in an offhanded way, "I hope we can still fuck when we're seeing other people." That way, he knows ain't shit going on except fucking. He can move on and save face if he thought something was going on. And he gets to keep the fun. He also knows you'll always be down for a quickie if either of you want one.

If you get serious with someone else, you can shut him down no problem at that point.
