First off, mofo, I cannot ignore you. You are a moderator. I hate that rule.

Second, I could totally kick your ass. You are a mental midget in comparison to me. Is there anyone who would dispute this?

Third, I saw a woman walking around with an umbrella this (sunny) weekend. She better have had skin cancer.

Fourth, I am looking for additions to my ignore list. I have a half share in the Hamptons this summer and am trying to do some long weekends. I dont have time for all this catching uip. This is why Gcubed is ignored.

I found this book at the gym on Friday and read it over the weekend. I now realize that one of my friends was "dating me" last summer. I was the obvious femme to her butch. From her perspective, I am also TMO, I would imagine. Now I feel bad.

oh good, i think now is a good time to start talking about urban planning and mass transit. since you are going to start putting people on the ignore list, then people like me who are interested in this subject can finally talk about it without you complaining about how it is boring because it doesn't involve "reality" tv, burritos, or you.

for anyone who ever finds themselves planning an urban mass transit system, this is definitely an example of what not to do.

If you had to read a book to determine that your friend was dating you, the problem is with her lack of a clearly understandable signal, not you. So try not to feel bad as it's not your fault.

Oh, and I assume I too am on Paig's "ignore" list when she's not making exceptions to pointlessly insult me. But I'm quite pleased about that.

Judge Orders Book Report

Judge Orders Man to Read 'Mockingbird'

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - A judge handed down a novel sentence to a defendant with a lengthy rap sheet: He ordered him to read "To Kill a Mockingbird."

Judge Juan Sanchez gave William Fowlkes, 46, of West Chester, his own copy of Harper Lee's classic novel and instructed him to read it and write an essay about how his "disgusting" behavior relates to the book.

Were I a judge, I might assign One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovic to let him know how much more life could suck.

Ask and ye shall receive, Str8. This may be a little vague since I wasn't obsessively staring at her or anything, and because she was out the door by the time I realized what was happening, but...

Appeared to be late 20's, dark brown hair around shoulder length. Wearing as I recall one of those pseudo-men's dress shirts (white, might have had a pattern) with a medium-length dark skirt with a subtle floral print and black "strappy" sandals. Cannot provide brand or style details without turning in my "man-card" so that's the best I can do, but from what I remember she seemed pretty well put together. Thought she was cute, and if I wasn't so disinterested I'd probably be interested.

I'd recognize her if I saw her again, but I haven't seen her since. As a result, I haven't been able to explain my reasons for not calling her...

If she saw your wedding ring, which your original post suggests she did, she doesn't need an explanation.

It shouldn't be a blow to her self-esteem to realize that a married man was not so overwhelmed by her beauty (of which he's only caught glimpses, anyway) that he was willing to cheat.

If her self-esteem would suffer, you would want to stay very far away, anyway, wouldn't you?

Do stalker-types ever get what they (supposedly) want? Is it actually possible to coerce your object of desire into being your beloved?

Part of the reason why I ask this is because I went out on a first (and last) date with a guy on Friday night. He's a nice guy but I wasn't really interested and he'd also already displayed some signs of being a little wacky. He called me later in the evening, on his way home, and left me a voicemail asking me out again over the weekend (even though I'd tried to make it clear I was busy). He called again on Saturday morning and left me another message. When I didn't return the calls by early Saturday afternoon, he sent me an email expressing his disappointment with my lack of responsiveness.

Fine, whatever. I know this tactic doesn't work on me but does it ever work on anybody? Do people seriously confuse neediness of this caliber for desire?

I don't know if she saw it or not, but it was visible for anybody to see. It's on my left hand, which is the hand away from where she was sitting (I was reading at the time also). I would think that she would look for it before approaching me, though.

These points and e/o's question are the kinds of things I need to consider. I don't think I want to call her because Mrs. Hand might not be so understanding of that if she ever found out. I'll probably see the young lady again soon, so right now I think I'd prefer to deal with it in person. I don't want to come off as a jerk, but with all due respect to her, I'm more concerned about my wife's feelings...

It's a team sport that no one can truly win alone. Once you see how the teams, and the individuals within them, are constantly weighing their actions now and their predictions of their future actions against each other, it's a truly compelling psychological drama.

Also a human one--like Vinokourov virtually coming out of nowhere this season and this Tour in memory of his countryman, Kivilev, who was killed earlier this year in a race.

Paigow-

I have not turned against you, but after the Wimbledon rants (which I would have agreed with if I wasn't listening to the live action at wimbledon.org) I don't want to give any info about the stage results away. I may get hit with an umbrella or something if I let slip who holds the yellow jersey or who won the stage.

Today's stage was amazing. I'm a relative newbie to the TdF, and have finally figured out why you don't go as fast as you can all the time. The intellectual athlete in me is loving this race.

PS If Lance can't win I want it to be Vinokourov.

She saw it. I am married and thus am not looking for anyone but I cannot help but check out the wedding-ring hand of any man or woman I come into contact with (even from a distance). I cannot explain why this is but every woman I have ever asked about this has admitted to the same.

Whatever you do, if you do call her, make sure any call is initiated from a non-caller ID phone -- imagine your surprise when in response to you "I am not interested call" she starts calling your home/work/cell.

Sounds creepy and desperate to me. As a "lovely parting gift", may I suggest sending him a copy of the DVD for "Swingers"... I think he'll get the message when he gets to the scene where Trent and Sue explain the rules on when to call a young lady back after a date or getting her phone number.

Two days is industry standard. Three days is money.
