Speaking of tampons, I have heard that Tripplehorny has been fired from his job with Rep. Granger. Roll Call magazine supposedly reported this, but I don't have a subscription. Chief?

Found on the other board:

"Tripplehorn Continued. Another chapter has been added to the saga of intern Paul Kelly Tripplehorn Jr.

Tripplehorn, of course, hastily left the office of Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) after penning a caustic e-mail marked "you suck" to one of his female colleagues.

Despite the fact that the e-mail has been forwarded around to thousands of folks around the country, he then landed an internship with Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas).

Sources tell HOH that Tripplehorn was asked by Granger's staff to submit his resignation late last week and he quickly did so. He did not return an e-mail seeking comment."

I have not seen the pics, but at least one source is claiming that they are of the wrong girl:

http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,...525789,00.html

"Despite the mother's concerns, a picture that was purported to be of the woman began circulating as early as Friday on at least three websites.

But Janelle Medina, 19, who attended Eagle Valley High School and was in the choir with the alleged victim, said the photo is of another girl with the same first name."

Lawsuit pending...Lance sued

ARMSTRONG SUED FOR DEFAMATION
Italian rider Filippo Simeoni has demanded 100,000 euros ($113,500) in damages from Armstrong after accusing the American of making defamatory remarks.
The Italian decided to take legal action after this year’s Tour race leader Armstrong called him a “liar” in an interview in Le Monde in April.
Armstrong attacked Simeoni after he gave evidence in the trial of Armstrong’s personal coach Dr Michele Ferrari, who is accused of sporting fraud and illegally acting as a pharmacist.
“We’ve requested the figure of 100,000 euros as a symbolic amount,” Simeoni’s Italian lawyer Giovanni Fontana told Reuters. “We’re not doing this legal action for money but to stop Lance Armstrong telling lies about Filippo Simeoni.” “He will also have to appoint a lawyer to defend himself in Italy.

I'll go. Anyone else wanna come?

A very wise choice in the ancient world, as she is most definitely one of the few people living before 1000 A.D. who aren't among your ancestors. Mother of God or not, it would be pretty squicky to fuck your 82nd great grandmother.

I must say, those are pretty cool.

Still totally inappropriate, everyone will be relieved to hear, but cool-looking, nevertheless. I am neither more nor less scandalized by beach-wear on the street than I am by athletic-wear. (Once you put a kitten heel on it, it's no longer a flip-flop, it is a sandal and therefore a real street-shoe, and you must take full responsibility for intentionally wearing plastic shoes.)

NYT had an article about "flip-flops on the street" about 3 weeks ago. By the time the NYT fashion pages get ahold of something, it is usually dead.

Of course, the article also suggests a significant portion of the population would have no modern ancestors, so all you have to find in the ancient (or even Medeval) world is someone in a line now extinct.

Of course, that means foregoing a liaison with Catherine the Great for one with Mary, Queen of Scotts.

Read his paper and explain it to the rest of us (seriously, I can't understand a word of it) before you judge based on an article in the Atlantic Monthly.

As for my poor brain, I will have to content myself with understanding only that Charlemagne was approximately 40 generations back from the present day, and each person has 2 parents, 2^2 = 4 grandparents, 2^3 = 8 great-grandparents, etc. and 2^40, or approximately 1,000,000,000,000, 40th-generation ancestors, which means half a trillion male ancestors. Since the entire male population of Europe at the time of Charlemagne was only about 15 million, this puts the chances that each person with European ancestry is not descended from Charlemagne at once chance in 10^15,000. Even accounting for non-European branches and low intermarriage rates between social classes, the probability approaches zero because there are so many freakin' ancestors 40 generations back.

I made the OM watch QE this weekend -- the cute one with Butch the artist.

I tried to explain the whole metrosexual thing as we watched all the hair products. He said, yeah, okay, straight guys into fashion grooming, etc., but they sleep with dudes. I said, no they sleep with women. He said, yeah, but clearly they also sleep with dudes.

The OM who does his own pedicures, meticulously applies moisturizer, and buys biore pore strips for himself just cannot wrap his mind around the metrosexual concept. I cannot imagine trying to explain the FB pepsi challenge.
