Liberal states? Since when is Texas a liberal state? We have a HUGE undocumented population, and we all live pretty much in harmony. (Edited to add, I'm pretty sure that it boils down to how each state pays its taxes. We don't have an income tax, so pretty much all of our undocumented population is paying the same sort of taxes that everyone else is paying for state services: sales and property, the latter usually in the form of rent.)

Oh, well everyone knows a man who would illegally cross a border is a bad person. He just wants to steal jobs from good, honest, hard working americans, who would happily have taken those jobs but for those damn illegal aliens.

Women do need to learn their place. They should stay home, get pregnant and cook. And iron. They should iron. With lots of starch.

When I got nonlegally married to a woman, I will make her stay home and take care of the home. Because someone has to wear the pants in the family, you know, there has to be a "man" in the relationship. So she should stay home, have children (science is a wonderful thing - as long as it doesn't in any way interfere with our views of God,) until we die. At which point our place is you know, down there.

Which reminds me of a bit from the Man Show back when it was sometimes funny. They did a fashion show, and one of their categories was the Hispanic Guy Who Has No Idea What His Shirt Says. The model was a hispanic guy wearing a "Daddy's Little Princess" tshirt. I think he was wearing it especially for his drivers license photo.

Are you suggesting the only policy choices are "throw them all out" or "let them all in". I know you live near a border where more Americans want out than Canadians want in, but there are a wide range of complex issues involved in immigration policies (just to focus on one, asylum and who qualifies). Making fun of your "they're all bad" approach is fair game.

Speaking of game, it would be more fun to shoot you down if you could fly.

That is the point, we have enough homegrown ones and can't do anything about them (the State is still considering my concealed-carry permit) so why should we permit others to just walk right in and join them?

OKay, I don't want to get into a real technical argument about it so I will simply say that in general publicly funded hospitals cannot turn anyone away. This includes illegals. Privacy laws, lying on intake questions, overburdened INS (now Homeland Security), bleeding hearts, etc. tend to permit illegals to seek the care without fear of reprisal. Although a truly tragic and sad story, I didn't see anyone clammoring for deportation of that heart-lung transplant girl whose parents had walked her over the border illegally only to have her die due to a medical tragedy.

1. It doesn't say that at all. I'm not getting involved in the immigrant argument, such things belong on the politics board and frankly I don't know enough to make an argument one way or the other. I wouldn't presume therefore to suggest what is appropriate or innapropriate about a subject in which I have little to no knowledge. I'll leave that to people who have studied the topic, or people like GWNC who have some experience therein.

What I have been making fun of for several posts now, is the stereotypical statements people make about people. Whether they be men, women, homosexuals or immigrants. Ltl made a comment about illegal immigrants, as was appropriate for our joking back and forth, I threw a stereotypical response back. And one thing I do know is that people say, those damn illegal immigrants, they are stealing our jobs.

Okay, but without getting real technical or anything, can you explain how it is that these publicly-funded hospitals are treating illegal aliens but not treating working-class Americans? Because you originally said that those damn aliens were getting health care and working-class Americans were not.

And apparently you have not recently reviewed the memo that bilmore now completely lacks any sense of humor, particularly about anything the least bit political.
