Clay: He did the eye fluttering thing again. And I can't listen to that song without thinking of a Very Special Episode of Family Ties. He's good, but he could have picked a better song, or at least something different from what he's done before.

Kim L: Eh. I didn't think she was that great. I hate that song and the best part of it was that at least it wasn't celine dion singing it.

Rickey: Much better than last week. He did a good job. He's not going to win, but he's my favorite person, just seems like a genuine guy.

Kim C: She did look a lot better this week. Not so skanky, but she looked like she was trying too hard not look like a skank. Come on? Bryan Adams, an interesting choice for her voice, which is throaty ALL the time. Bottom 3.

Josh: Still country. That key change at the beginning sucked big time. Yuck. An ok job, I suppose. I just don't like him and think he's a pussy since Simon had better form and could do more push-ups.

Carmen: I didn't think she was *that* bad. At least she picked something upbeat and had fun with it. She's gone, particularly since she was in the bottom 2 last week and they are carrying the votes forward.

Trenyce: I thought she did very good: much better than Kim L. I just hate celine dion. I also wasn;t crazy about the placement of that last sustained note... too forced.

Ruben: He is soooooooo going to win. I can't imagine circumstances in which he would not.

So does anyone know when they are going to release the group recording of God Bless the USA? Ummm... if the war is already over by then, they may not get the sales they were hoping for.

Not all breast implants look fake. Many women have breast implants to reconstruct a breast removed by mastectomy secondary to breast cancer. Thus, the implant manufacturers came up with the anatomical-shaped implants that look saggy and real. Otherwise, there would be no way to make the reconstructed breast look like the breast that didn't have to be removed because of breast cancer.

Some women who are getting breast implants for cosmetic reasons (as opposed to reconstructive) still choose the anatomicals because they look pretty natural, like that model. They sag just like the real ones do, especially if placed over the muscle like that.
Interesting info as I am about as good at spotting fake breasts as I am at spotting socks around these parts.

FWIW, there's a whole slide show of photos and I was referring more to women in the other photographs than the first woman.

But thanks for the info!

Clay: " He's good, but he could have picked a better song, or at least something different from what he's done before." Agreed. Every week is exactly the same tempo and same type of song.

Kim L: "Eh. I didn't think she was that great. I hate that song and the best part of it was that at least it wasn't celine dion singing it." Agreed completely. I don't understand the Kim L love. She belts well, but she can't sing when not belting.

Rickey: He sang his song so well, I didn't notice where the duet would have kicked in. Agree he won't win, but I really like him.

Kim C: "Bottom 3." She really didn't sing this well. And, she looks like she's lived a little hard to only be "22" or however old she claims to be.

Josh: "I just don't like him and think he's a pussy since Simon had better form and could do more push-ups." Heh. This was a better performance for him, but that isn't saying anything. By all rights, he should be stewing with Carmen and Kim C. in the bottom 3.

Carmen: She just has a weak voice. It was a good song for her.

Trenyce: I thought she did well. I hate Celine Dion, but at least she didn't sing Whitney Houston again.

Ruben: His performance was disappointing. It sounded like he mailed it in. Still, he is head and shoulders above the rest of the performers.

The theme may have been a little too broad for most of the singers.

I think Carmen, Kim C, and Kim L should be in the bottom 3.

Trenyce may be going home.

Clay: Meh. It was ok.

Kim L.: Could have had a little more emotion.

Rickey: Did a lot better than he had done on prior weeks. And it was a rare case where I thought the cap actually made him look better (usually can't stand those caps).

Kim C: She'll be popular in Branson.

Josh: I must admit to being a fan of some country music, including that song (go ahead - snicker and flame), and I thought he did a great job with it. But he should be on the CMT show looking for a new singer, not this one.

Carmen: Is it over yet? Man, there is no way that was only 1:30. You could have convinced me it was much longer... the hell just kept going on and on. Please please please no more!!

Trenyce: Was great until the last 15 seconds or so. That last note? Way too forced (I couldn't hit it on my best day ever, but she probably can easily and for some reason, it sounded like she was pushing it way more than needed).

Ruben: Lookin' sharp!! Didn't really stretch his voice tonally, but he had the best stylings and did a fantastic job.

Bottom 3? Carmen, Kim C and Kim L. Going home? Carmen. Why was Julia there?

Non-singer notes:

About time Ryan got a haircut, but it had the strange effect of making his highlights look like leopard spots.

Is there a Portrait of Lionel Ritchie locked in a closet somewhere? Because if anything he looks younger than he did 20 years ago.

Clay: Glad to see he held off the eyelid flutter until the very end, but I am completely bored by him now. Paula hit it on the head when she said he didn't capture the urgency and desperation of the song--he has good performance intensity but the feeling is always the same.

Kim L.: I was really feelin' her tonight (who am I, Randy Jackson?!?!); I'm sorry you all didn't appreciate her. I felt like she didn't oversing the song, and made it her own--and I was predisposed to hate it because I so detest Celine Dion.

Rickey: Finally sang with some power and emotion, instead of just trying to sound sweet on the high notes. Love him (didn't love the hat and glasses). Could his teeth be any whiter?

Kim C.: Pretty dress. And that's about the nicest thing I can say about her. She is in a complete no-win situation: if she sings the songs she knows suit her voice, she gets slammed for lack of versatility. If she sings other types of songs, she gets slammed for sucking. At least she didn't shout.

Josh: Plenty of passion, but the adrenaline was a bit out of control, causing the pitch problems that Randy noted. His mannerisms (especially the jaw manipulation) BUG me.

Carmen: The only one to do an up-tempo number tonight, bless her heart. Her warble makes me cringe. Very karaoke overall--if she's not gone tomorrow, I'll be shocked.

Trenyce: Had the deer-in-the-headlights look on that last high note (pleasedon'tletmyvoicecrack), but otherwise a solid performance. However, she shares with Clay the tendency to give all songs the same emotional reading.

Ruben: No 205 jersey!! How many cows in that jacket? Not his best performance (had one flat note 2/3 way through), but even on a bad day he cleans the clocks of all the other performers.

Bottom 3: Carmen, Kim C., ??

I gotta largely agree with csquared. When I saw Clay introduced at the beginning and he waved to the audience, I got a totally Liberace vibe from him. Can just picture him in Vegas in really glittery jackets. I am amazed that the kiddies like him. He is my grandmother's taste.

Clay- same shit different week. Please do something different. Apparently it is sufficient to keep him from the bottom three . Wont get him into the top two and hopefully not the top three. I cant take much more of him.

Kim Locke= Not so good but then I hate Celine Dion

Rickey- good looking guy who had his balls cut off. Still sounds like lite fm and had the song to go with hit. I guess he was good for what he does but I dont feel him dawg

Kim C-Well, she looked pretty this week so that should keep her alive over Carmen. I predicted one of these two would go first and its gonna be CArmen. Bc she sucked the worst.

Josh- he is a good Garth imitator and he is hot in a rural south or midwest kinda way. I assume that was Garth?

Pizza arrived and I thought to myself, everyone here ranges from mediocre to eh except Lashumba and RUben so why bother? Then I heard

Carmen- that was like karaoke without cocktails. adios.

Trenyce- very good except for the end, like csquared said. And she is starting to resemble a black Julia. I fear for her future. And it didnt help that her last few seconds were followed by the great

Ruben. Kudos for picking a noncheezy tune on top of it all. He may be the only obese man I would sleep with, and that includes the late Jerry Garcia as someone I would not have. He comes on stage and I can almost feel tears coming to my eyes he is just so great. I love that Shaq smile.

Bottom three- Carmen, Rickey, Kim Locke, Trenyce and Kim C. Oh wait I only get three. Carmen, Rickey, and Trenyce. Though this is basically too close to cal. But I will give one of the Celines and one of the blondes safety. Doesnt matter bc Carmen stands alone.

On the subject of bachelor parties...Your best man should only invite those who can keep their mouth shut to a bachelor party. You are only doing partial quoting, my little paigow hater. I said MOST implant mpeople I see are strippers, porno people and Hollywood people, which includes actreses, which includes, kinda, demi moore., but hollywood is in the business of selling sex as far as I understand it, so the difference isnt that important. Seems to me that people get implants to feel sexier, which to me is just sad. But maybe thats why its the province of the lower classes? Wealthier people can just do a lifetime of fabulous trips and shopping and personal trainers and are more likely to have natural beauty since rich men marry beautfful women. Maybe these women woudl rather just throw out five to ten thousand or whatever all at once and think they are now sexy for life. I just find the whole thing troubling. Like McMansions- postmodern quick fixes that is no substitute for natural beuty and ultimately changes the landscape in a not good way. But I like things that are classic, not tacky.

ANd that doesnt get into the cost, the risk of invasive surgery , and the perpetuation of the unrealistic body image thing, yada yada. ANd thats all I am saying on this folks. I am sure you all will be quite relieved.

As for the other paigow misquotes- I said I waould do the jewish porno homeboy if he stopped doing all the porno chicks . Plus, he is a nice jewish boy which could, but not necessarily mean, he didnt bang as many. Thats what he seems to be saying on the show. but maybe you could give me props for forgiving someone's manho background if they vow to change instead of blanket criticizing me, Jack? I dont pick on you.

Come to Texas, little paigow. Many of our wealthy women have been enhanced to look even better as they drive their Suburbans from the spa to lunch while talking on the cell phone and running over small animals, etc. Of course, our strippers are generally enhanced as well (and many of them end up being wealthy women!).

Was Kelly Clarkson a total shoo-in to win like Ruben is? How did the top ten breakdown in comparison? Seems to me this time there are three categories, a couple of outlire horrid people like Jlulia and Carmen, the masses who are mediorcre and then a couple of excellent singers like Trenyce and Ruben/ was it the same deal last go round?

I forgot that the votes carry over. In that case, I definitley go with carmen trenyce and rickey. who was the third bottom three person last week? If it was one of the Kims, it might save rickey.

Coming full circle. Like Anna Nicole Smith. A lot of Texas has the newer money so its not the old story of rich men marrying beatiful women giving us hotties with watered down brains. these are women who came from average looking people who have the money to surgery up. and as we all know, everything is bigger in Texas.

Kim Locke was third from bottom last week.

Apparently I accidentally stepped into a parallel universe last night around 8:00 b/c although I thought I was watching American idol, there was no 205 jersey, Simon told Carmen she sucked and told Clay he was good, and listening to a Celine Dion song didn't make me want to gouge out my own eardrums. Oh, but Carmen still sucked ass, so maybe I was in the right universe after all.

It's nice that you say you are done, but it's very convenient for you to be "done" right after you say that implants are the province of the lower classes. But you are "done" so nobody should respond to that, right, because then THEY would be beating a dead horse. Fuck you. I am not sure I would totally disagree with that description of botox, i would jsut say its incomplete. I would say that botox is also probably used a lot by peole who are afraid of getting old who may not be old yet, and afraid of looking old. again, society doesnt seem to pay much attention to women of a certain age. Or as Kathy Bates said to Frances Conroy on Six Feet Under recently when she was urging Frances to steal some lipstick, "go ahead, women our age are invisible". Madonna has addressed the issue saying, "what, I am forty? Am I supposed to disappear?". So why wouldnt someone who listens to this shit that society spews all the time not be afraid of aging? Why wouldnt they not automatically reach for the botox? shit. I guess its a matter of how you describe older women.

And I certianly did not refer to people who get implants as trailer trash proles (the equivalent of the over the hill women), I said people who are not wealthy or something. I might disparage people as proles in jest, yes, and as you know, I would not not be friends with someone bc they come from a different background than I- you know my friends are from all sorts of backgrounds pretty much. ANd I would never say where you come from predisposes what you are going to be and the limits on you and that coming from a certain background makes you a bad person. Its what you do with what you have. IN every single person's case. But I do believe, from my obervations throughout my years, that the majority of people who get implants are people form probably lower middle class to middle class. I havent seen the demographics, its just what I speculate is the case from what I have seen. And I am fascinated by people watching and demography and drawing conclusions from what I see. And you are free to disagree iwth those conclusions. I regret that you have lost a great deal of respect for me. I guess we cannot all like everything about each other. Nobody's perfect.

class, democracy and boobs

This whole discussion reminds me of that saying that democracy is Britain's dirty little secret, class is America's. I guess I am just voicing seomthing that is not generally discussed.

You're right, we should probably let this die before we bore everybody to death. But I would just like to point the hypocrisy of saying that women get botox b/c they are responding to society's view that aging is bad so botox is ok. But women who get implants are not responding to society's view that bigger boobs are more attractive -- apparently those women are just in the sex business or are lower class.

In both cases, women are doing something to make themselves feel more attractive. And both procedures come with serious risks. To say that one is ok, and the other is trashy is ridiculous.

Late to the party on this one. I saw this season's AI for the first time last night, and to be honest, only saw the last three full performances, and the recaps at the end, but I'll give it a shot based upon your categories.

Two excellent singers in my mind from last time. Kelly and Tamyra Gray.

Fair to Middling: They boy-band boy (forget his name). Justin, Christina Crisiansen, though she was closer to the top group, and most of the group not mentioned below.

The worst:

The pink-haired chick who lasted far too long, and the rawk girl with the dark hair (damn, my short-term memory is going to hell)

Of the three performances I saw in full:

Carmen -- she's cute, but her singing is fucking horrible. No range whatsoever. Whoever said bad karaoke hit it right on the head, and what was with the Pat Benatar 80's "Love is a Battlefield" right-together, left-together two-step bop. Ugh. Unfortunately "cute" took some contestants much farther than they would have gone last year, too.

Trenyce - nice voice, but I have trouble getting past the fact that I hate Celine Dion. She seemed more tentative than Ruben and had much less stage presence.

Ruben - great voice and also seemed the most comfortable on stage of the three. Charisma to spare and knows how to work a crowd.

Oh, and about Clay. He has a nice voice. A Broadway Chorus nice voice, not an American Idol nice voice, although if he won they would probably pick some crappy schmaltzy ballad (like they did for Kelly) as his first "hit" single that would suit his talents well. FWIW, as to whether he is or isn't, my guess is if he hasn't taken the "Big Gay Boatride" yet, he will. NTTAWWT.

I didnt opine as to whether Botox is ok or not. I was going off on a tangent about how society is dictating people to do unnatural stuff, which is the same as fake tits. I said the difference is whether you call these women old hags. (well I think I said the difference is what you call tehse older women). I have said IRL , shit I am getting old, I need botox. and anything else i have said to you irl should not be discussed here for whatever reason but i didnt say here that botox is ok. i have offered no opinion whatsoever on botox. and i also did not say whether botox was the province of the lower classes, which I do not believe it is. but i will differentiated botox from fake tits in a couple of ways. One, botox is not so much about being sexy as it is about not looking old. you might take it the next step and say being young is about being sexy. but i might not agree with that statement and getting botox isnt mean I am gonna put on a more revealing bikini or whatnot. I will also say that botox does not involve risky anesthesia, and multiple operations. i have yet to see major lawsuits over botox threatending someone's life and it doesnt require lying in bed and putting your life on hold for a few weeks to recover from it. but are they both exercises in vanity? yes. one is just a far more drastic and severe exercise. I would never want my mom to get implants bc I would fear for her during the surgery and afterwards and I would think she sould use the money in far better ways. But my mom is someone who does not even buy expensive wrinkle creams at counters. she would rather take her cash and go traveling. but thats a tangent, and neither here nor there and not relevant to antying except to say that I come form a family where peopel are just not as concerned about that kind of stuff. I wish more people in the world were like that. bc then I would not wonder about the pros and cons of injecting pig poison near my brain on down days.

If you had qualified your statement thus in the first place, you might not have drawn so many objections. It's one thing to say "a majority;" it's wholly another to say "all" or "only." You admit there are legitimate uses for botox. If you fail to admit there are legitimate uses for breast implants, and insist on lumping every one with breast implants into the same group, then you're an imbecile.

And greenwich was a metaphor. I would have thought you could have figured that out.

FWIW, I wasn't trying to bring IRL stuff to the board. On the FL board you talked about how you didn't find botox as objectionable as implants. That's what I was taking about, not about when you joke around about how you should get botox.

But I still think that you are a hypocrite when it comes to this issue.

Tell me where I say ALL fake titters are sex workers or from the lower class. I said Most I have SEEN are in porno, strippers and hollywood, AND then I said from my experience come from the lower middle class to middle class. You should check your cites, counselor. I would think you would know that.

As for yoru Greenwich metaphor, I was telling you what was wrong with your metaphor. Clarify rr pick a different enclave bc I wasnst sure if you meant People With Money or People With Old Money by the Greenwich statement. I would have thought you would know that.

THE NEW GA CLUB

The New GA Club
[Sung to the tune of In da Club]

Go, go, go, go
Go, go, go anon
It's your birthday
We gon' post you...
a happy birthday
We gon' fawn over you cuz...
it's ya birthday
And you know TM don't give a fuck
If it's your birthday!

[Chorus (2x)]
You can find 'Weed in the pub, bottle full of bub
You know multo got the X if you into taking drugs
Less is into having sex, he ain't into making love
If paigow gives me a hug you know she's getting clubbed

[Verse]
When I pull up to my desk to face the day, I need drugs
Ask me legal questions and watch this nigga shrug
FB girls heard I hang with slave, now they wanna show me love
When you post as much as me your mind's a little bugged
But this board ain't changed. GPs down, GAs up
I see MR's in the Cutt...that kid'll lick ya ass up
If you read my posts you'll mistake me for a playa or pimp
Been hit wit a few flames but I dont type wit a crimp
On the board JFF says her body is hot
If you respond you all know it's this board that'll rot
But holla in DC and they'll tell ya it's paigow that's loco
And her plan is to make her name then put the board in a choke hold
Penske's focused man, his money's on his mind
He's got a mill of the socks but here he's fallin' behind
Now E/O said she feeling my style, she feeling my flow
Barely Beagle's actin' bi and leagle's ready to go

[Chorus (2x)]
You can find 'Weed in the pub, bottle full of bub
You know multo got the X if you into taking drugs
Less is into having sex, he ain't into making love
If paigow gives me a hug you know she's getting clubbed

[Bridge]
The great raise of 2 triple 0 brought me the doe
That bought me all my fancy things
My crib, my car, my clothes, my watch
Partners had to pay up...but shit ain't changed.

[Verse]
And they should love me, way more then they hate me
Why they mad? Partners should be happy I made it
I'm that cat at the firm billin' away my whole life
It's these stupid ass clients tryin' to keep me here riiiiight?
When headhunters get to callin' with a job it's on
I wink my eye at my boss, then I smile...I'm gone
I heard Infirm's on fire, let the motherfucker burn
If you talking bout respect homie, they ain't concerned
I'm a tell you what Leagle told me cause she put this board up
If the flounders hate then let 'em hate
Watch our hits pile up
Lawtalkers' the spot for lawyers lookin' for a club
You know where we fucking be

[Chorus (2x)]
You can find 'Weed in the pub, bottle full of bub
You know multo got the X if you into taking drugs
Less is into having sex, he ain't into making love
If paigow gives me a hug you know she's getting clubbed
