I couldn't stand whenever he and his cast of freaks were in town.

I saw Arlo Gutherie perform several Dylan tunes (lesser known stuff) early this year. He was very good. He does early Dylan better than anyone. He's also pretty good on Gutherie stuff (both Woody and Arlo). He's been touring various symphonies (as is Art Garfunkel, apparently), so if you have a chance and you like that sort of thing, check it out.

This is obviously outable as I am likely the only Arlo fan under 55 in all of Dallas, but I post it for your likely derision anyway. Enjoy.

I have no gripe with Arlo. He's aged megnificently. Is he the cat who sings "Flying into Los Angeles, bringin in a couple of keys, don't touch my bag, Mr. Customs man, if you please.."?

That said, I watched Alice's Restaurant recently. It was about an hour too long.

I agree toward the end, Jerry was god awful. But waaay back in the late 60s and 70s, when the Dead were "on", there was no better improvisational rock band on Earth.

As to the freaks, I always looked rather conservative at Dead shows, as I'm not into the Deadhead look, and the freaks were always as polite, courteous and willing to share what they had as any group as you could ever find. Sure was a lot more peaceful than going to an Eagles game.

It depends on what you mean by without help. If you consider good genes, good diet, and good amount of exercise "help," then I agree, it usually doesn't happen.

If you mean plastic surgery by help, I would say there are many people who don't smoke, don't drink excessively, have good diets, good genes, and get a good amount of exercise who age well without plastic surgery. But they still age. It is just that they look good for their age or compared to others their age.

I didn't watch this, but my sil did (plus got the scoop beforehand from one of her groomsmen friends). I guess one of the guys got really plastered and looked pretty dumb?

Another groomsmen tidbit--two of them (not sure which ones, since I didn't watch the bachelor party and can't put names to faces) grew up Mormon.
