Then about the 4th tee CEO muffs his tee shot. "Can I get a Mulligan?"

Suddenly the atmosphere changed. It should not matter. We were playing to be out there, not for anything else. But it clearly had changed.

One of the Presidents says, "Ted, you're the guest, what do you say?"

I "Hmm, this doesn't seem a legal question, more business."

The presidents looked at the ground for a second, then one said, "Sure, tee it back up."

It was weird, but definitely a show of power.

I trust he covered drinks afterwards.

Was it a scramble or something? Was your foursome competing against another foursome? If not I can't imagine how or why this would be weird. You want to take a mulligan when there's nothing on the line, go for it. Who is going to care?

Nope. It seemed the exact thing Ty's link was mentioning. Would have been interesting to see one of the Presidents hit a shit shot- would em ask?

I do not understand why the UK government will not hold a second referendum.

Isn't the reason the unusually long time it takes to set up a referendum--taking them way past the weird and arbitrary deadline they set up?

The people spoke and said “let’s get out.” Parliament just can’t get it done. So they have another vote, “we can’t sort this out, are you guys sure?”

It’d be like Congress saying it can’t work with Trump and scheduling a new election. It’s pretty to think about, but not an option.

At some point there was enough time, and if they had wanted to do it they could have. They are allergic to it. Also, the deadline, IIRC, is not weird or arbitrary in the sense that I thought it was set by EU law, Article 50.

Pretty obviously, there are a lot of people who liked Brexit in some sense but can't agree on what sort of Brexit should happen. So they need another referendum both because they know more now than they did then, but also to make a more specific choice: Whether to Brexit on specified terms, or to Bremain.

youre confusing the people with the lawmakers. You want the people to reconsider but that isn’t an option.

Why? If they can hold the first one, they can hold a second one. Or they can hold a referendum on whether to hold another referendum on Brexit. That would push Brexit back to 2050, three or four years beyond where it appears it will otherwise take place.

Of course it's an option. People voted in the original, non-binding referendum on whatever assumptions they had at the time about the deal that would be worked out. If May was at all competent, especially given the divide within her own party, she should would have been working toward putting the deal she negotiated up for a second referendum against remain.

At the moment, it looks like it will take place at the end of the month.

Why can't these people do this sort of thing the proper way, by donating a building?

They'll delay it again. I heard there was some structure in place to buy 24 months.
