Hey, now that I can have sex legally, I needed to find something else to do.

Downloading porn on kazaa is great! I especially like all the freaky shit you can find, especially the animated stuff, like the women having sex with purple demons and all.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the second funniest show on Sunday's Adult Swim after Harvery Birdman: Attorney at Law (last night: The Dabba Don).

ATHF is fun, but it never rises to the level of its fantastic theme song by Schoolly D.

Best thing I saw on TV this weekend was on VH1. It was called something like "Sesame Street Music from A-Z." They showed their best clips of bands/musicians appearing on Sesame Street. My absolute favorite was R.E.M. doing "Furry Happy Monsters," with a little girl puppet lip-synching the backing female vocal. Genius. Also great was the Spin Doctors doing "Two Princes," about two boy monsters, each of whom wanted to have a playdate with a girl monster. Hilarious. The lead singer of the band recounted how he told Telly: "this is amazing, I've never worked with puppets before," and how Telly leaned in close and said: "Neither have I!" That show must be so much fun to work on.

Ok, if they're duvet covers , then what exactly is the duvet itself?

Or is it redundant? Do duvets cover the comforter, or do duvet covers cover the duvet?

I normally don't tangle with people with admin powers, but you're insane. "Harvey Birdman" suffers from Beavis & Butt-Head syndrome: one laugh every fifteen minutes. (And B&B had the benefit of being a half-hour show, providing exactly two laughs.) The episode where Apache Chief spills coffee on his groin and loses the superpower of growing to giant-size doubled the laugh rate to two, but this was mostly because Apache Chief ROCKS the Superfriends.

The redeeming thing about HB is the theme song. When leaving for the office in the morning, I find myself singing, "Whooooo. . . is the man in the suit? Whooooo . . . is the cat with the beeeeeeeaaaak?" On the whole, however, HB will go down in history as the least funny thing Stephen Colbert has ever touched --- and that includes "Crank Yankers."

Duvet covers cover the duvet. Not redundant. The duvet is the comforter-like thing (actually I was taught that a duvet was just a french word for what we called a "continental quilt" - the continent being Europe - and what you call a comforter). The duvet cover is like 2 sheets sewn together that goes over the duvet. You wash the duvet cover but you have to have the duvet dry cleaned.

A duvet is the comforter --- a soft quilted bedcover filled with eiderdown. The duvet cover is the zippered or buttoned sheet, removable for washing, into which the duvet is stuffed.

Edited to add: What she said.

I am starting to think you are not the avante garde tour de force guy I thought you were and am now thinking you are a five minutes behind the peak of insiderism, displaced canuck with a freakish memory bank full of dead Survivors. Like, if Swingers was circa 2003 instead of 1997, you might be the guy driving around WeHo looking for the bar without the sign that Leo and Tara declared dead last week. And you just finally figured out where to get Pisco.

I've never been to Hot Topic and I'm fully cognizant of it's suckiness. It's a funnel of fashion, nay a vacuum, nay a black hole. Whatever you want to call it, it just sucks. But they've got Adult Swim T-shirts, which will be the coolest additions to my T-shirt collection since my "Superjew," and "Show me on the doll where the bad man touched you" shirts I got from freshproduct (that very same Superjew shirt was featured on QEFSG, MANY MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT ). So I am too cool.

Several more steps. The duvet cover wrap goes around the duvet cover to keep it clean. That, in turn, is protected by the duvet cover wrap cover.

In very dry climates, duvet cover wrap covers can be covered, of course, by a secondary duvet cover wrap cover, but the more common scenario has them all simply tossed into a corner underneath some form of ceramic pottery. Usually, this pottery is covered by the ceramic pottery wrap cover (the actual "wrap" being considered unnecessary as long as the cover has been covered) . . . .

But this is what you dont get: the fact that you have to get it at Hot Topics means it is past its peak. Yeah, a few thirty something lawyers might be befuddled by the sight of your shirt, but do you really want to be down with the Mall Crowd? What are you trying to convey with this shirt, anyway? That despite the fact that you are an old lawyer, you are really a twentysomething from the streets of Glendale? Better to save your money and get a mini cooper which I think will better convey the coolness of you.

Shut the hell up. But that is just a general comment, Niles.

My comment about HB should have been more clear that I was commenting about last night's episode, which perfectly blended the Sopranos with the Flintstones. I cringed when I re-read how I had typed it, but since it was buried posts ago, I let it go.

ATHF was the second funniest last night. Generally, it's never as funny as it could be, but it is a damn funny show.

I want to get a laser that shoots VERY SLOWLY. And Paigs, my T-shirt choice is intended to convey the notion that I'm with-it. I think I'm doing a good job, as in the last month I've gotten "hey, awesome shirt" comments from total strangers while wearing my New Pornographers shirt and my "All your base are belong to us" shirt. To paraphrase Tenacious D, 'I win 2-0.'

Two things

At lunch, I saw a guy rollerblading. He seemed a little older than most rollerbladers I see -- maybe 45? With prematurely grey hair, and a little pudgy but no huge potbelly or anything, just not any kind of hardbody. So, everything is fine so far. But he's wearing a fanny pack. And he has on shorts that look kind of the consistency of silk boxers.

And no shirt. NO SHIRT! Ick.

Second thing. Plants die under my care. Regular flowers are great for a while, but inevitably I forget about them and suddenly they are dropping petals all over the place and the water is all scummy. Basically, I'm a big irresponsible slob. What's the verdict on silk flowers? Part of me thinks "ew ew ew fake!" and part of me thinks "maybe will add some color."

Maybe I just need to buy some stuff that has color in place of the flowers. I would get a fresh bouquet delivered every other day except I don't have that kind of money.

This reminds me of how cool I thought I was when I was 19 and used to walk around town in my "Sail With A Hard On" tee-shirt.

Given how overhyped and done to death, they should change the name of that shhirt to the Old Pornographers. (image of Less going throughmy head for some reason). Interesting to know that someone over the age of twelve actually buys tees at concerts.

I've seen a few silk flowers that actually look good. I used to be anti-fake flower, but I've come around after I've seen some silk arrangements that didn't look terrible.

Try lucky bamboo. That stuff is impossible to kill and it adds life to your office / home. My parents' subdivision has a guy who has lots of plastic flowers in his flowerbeds. He won yard of the month once (and then they figured it out.)

You could get a plant with colored or variegated leaves - as long as variegated plants get enough light, they won't turn green. A croton or something? In a couple months you can pick up some poinsettia.

I kind of want more color than one can get from a non-flowering plant. Re: pointsettias, bad things happen if you don't water it for a week or two (depending on humidity). My most hated chore is putting the duvet in the duvet cover after washing the cover. It's exhausting and I need a nap afterwards (convenient). I'd rather clean the toilet.

It's strange how most people refer to duvet covers but never to the duvet. It's usually a "comforter"...

And I found a t-shirt for $2 that says "Only cool hoes [sp] get to work my corner"...

I find succulents hard to kill, so I have a fair amount of them. A friend of mine just has a bunch of cacti in her place - they can be quite colorful. And hard to kill. Although I am not so sure how well they mix with cats.

You should make sure you have at least one live plant in your place though. Otherwise bad luck. Put it in the bedroom.

Try bamboos shoots. You can buy a mature shoot (even one with a twist in it) for about $15, and they last for(seemingly)ever. I also kill everything living within my vicinity but have had much luck with bamboos. Get a couple mature shoots together in a huge clear vase and viola! Color without stress. Just add water when you notice it is low.
