Please include your sock's name, the post number, and a brief explanation of why the post should be deleted on the back of a twenty dollar bill and send it to me.

Both of those religions are ripe for criticism and jokes, and yet it seems for one we have to worry about offending its adherents and being politically correct and respectful and for the other its a who gives a shite equation. Please explain?

And ftr, I am down with making fun and leveling criticism of both the above religions. Last week I burned a bible and Qu'ra'an. Check my YouTube channel for the video, which I emailed to Bin laden. And the pope. FWIW.

On your forst paragraph, Really? You don't understand why Islam enjoys a sanctity Catholicism doesn't?

1. Islam is the underdog, the victim. A large proportion of its radical adherents are, globally speaking, losers. Can't win a war, can't create a govt infrastructure, can't create an economy not based on oil. Liberals always back the underdog. Its part of their central belief that all groups should be on equal footing.

2. Islam is exotic. Catholicism is old, well understood sexism/ritual abuse/voodoo. Islam is foreign. These jackasses have a twenty foot hard-on for anything ostensibly creating cultural diversity.

3. Islam pisses off the demographic culsters of America liberals view as inbred and uneducated. Red state religious nuts hate Islam, so naturally, equally deluded liberals take a soft stance on it.

4. Islamists blame the US for a lot of their troubles. So do liberals.

It's mostly an identification-with-the-victim thing. Catholicism is predatory, patriarchal and has inside influence not unlike the politicians and captains of industry liberals loath. To liberals unaware of the immense political and economic power Islam holds in the Middle East and beyond, and unaware of how the religion is used by powerful men to subjugate people exactly as Catholicism has been, Islam looks like an organization of the oppressed.

You should consider converting to Islam. I read somewhere that it's a great religion for the oppressed.

George W. Bush was on to something with his war-within-Islam thing.

I don't know if this belongs here or on politics, but the Justice Brennan biography published Monday sounds worthwhile.

I have no doubt you could run for office. Whether you'd win or not would likely depend on whether or not the opposition found this site....

File for future reference: GGG tends to keep quiet when he has adequate quality wine and spirits to keep him occupied....

I assumed as much, but my worry from here would be Hank. Those Harvard/Yale joint JD program fellows tend to look down on third tier proles like me and take every opportunity to keep us out of power. I may convert to the religion of the oppressed. Maybe running as a converted muslim would help.....yes?

Sebby's doppleganger writes about Rand Paul, Palin, and the Tea Party in a beautiful Kentucky-ish melange.
