But look at her whole body

(I think that link should work.)

She seems to be the sort that gains weght in the stomach, rather than in the hips/thighs. It makes her legs look disproportionate. I also think she would look better in a dress that covered up her chest a little more, or at least didnt smoosh them up into her neck. Afterthe whole body pic, I think the ideal is slightly closer to the anorexia look than her current state.

It would look even worse if she didn't have that black velvet band at her waist, which is making her look like she actually has one.

The worst part about it (for her) is that she could have picked a dress that would have actually flattered her. That dress is just too tight for someone of her weight. And she needs a dress that covers her arms. They are just too flabby.

I agree that the smooshing of the boobs up to the clavicles is not a good look, either, IMHO.

Speaking of Watches...

Can anyone suggest a day-date watch that doesn't look like something worn by a Bennigan's manager?

Try to keep it under $500. I know Rolex makes a day-date watch, but I need to pay off my loans. I've been looking on-and-off for over a year, so I remember the discussion on the Stalin Board, but none of the candidates were day-date watches.

And I'm not talking about chronographs with 15 different dials and displays. I don't need to know where North is or how far under water I am.

Advice appreciated.

(And yes, my shoes are above-average in quality.)
That depends what you mean. This strikes me as the classic, simple steel day/date:
http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....&PROD_ID=56665 (spree: Watch, $65)
but maybe that's what you mean by something worn by a Bennigan's manager. Although I immediately thought of this when you said that:

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....PROD_ID=532721 (spree: watch, $26)

But in general, you might just look around Overstock.com. They seem to have several dozen brands and in some cases, dozens of watches per brand.

It is possible that I have mentioned this here in the past, but in case I have not: The 80s ended. Quite some time ago, actually.

And I'm glad they did. Something could easily, for example, be too Depeche Mode, or too Thompson Twins.

But not too Adam Ant.

Adam Ant was fun the first time you saw it, but then quickly became a one-note irritation. Think of him as a Depeche Mode sock that should have been flipped.

All true, BUT, thumbs up or thumbs down to the cute, thin chick wearing granny glasses. TIA.

If TM is to be believed then Penske can attest that it's possible. Probably lots of Ho Hos and Big Gulp Jolts, but I wouldn't know.

No. She is wearing business attire at work (which in CA is business casual) or jeans and a sweater outside of work.

Note - she does not wear the granny glasses except for reading and while working at her computer.

Okay, if one is CLEARLY too young to be an actual grandmother, no question, without a doubt, couldn't make that mistake, wouldn't be believeable at all - then they look good.

If one is even close to that age, then they just look like . . well, granny's glasses.

It's a close call. I know women who were grandmas at 38.
