It's Fashion Insider Ken!

The insight that you experienced in your dream (i.e. that golf is not worth risking your life), is probably similar to that which you have or will experience - e.g. you understand that something may not be worth what you initially think it is - or something like that. The fact that you woke up while climbing down probably means that you are still trying to digest this understanding - if you are on the brink of this understanding - you will take a while to digest it. Expect to have more climbing/trekking/heights dreams in the future for a while. It looks as if it is something big you are thinking about. |

You are pissed off about something or other - you are having a hard time communicating to someone why you are pissed off - or someone doesn't seem to be understanding you lately, so you are frustrated. The first dream is all about this frustration. Death of a parent usually means that you fear some sort of loss, but I think in this case it is an outlet you are using to express some sort of anger. So you're not mad at your mother - you're mad because of something going on in your life that (I think) involves some inability to communicate or reach understanding with someone. You dream that your mother dies so that you can have an acceptable outlet to express this anger. But it doesn't work because you get all snagged up in red tape. (I think actually that this red tape is your own invention - that you are scared of expressing this anger and so you are deliberately thwarting yourself). So that dream gets you nowhere but makes you realize that you have to make a decision about what has got you angry (or your subconscious has made the decision already - it just has to tell your conscious mind about it), hence the next dream. |

The brilliance of the piece is that it is so void of facts that it defies substance-based critique. Heather ought to write blurbs on new television shows for People Magazine because that's exactly what she wrote about Law Talkers. Smith leaned over and spread them as wide as a desperate Tijuana hooker about to take it from a horse in front of a pack of drunken Americans for $500. Casting one's journalistic integrity to the wind for a miniscule bonus seems an awfully bad bargain... She probably could have kept more respect and wasted less effort for the check by just sucking off her supervisor. Then again, what more can be expected in this economy? Everybody's a whore these days. S(A shower probably won't cut it Heather... you'd better get some penicillin)D |

Here was my reaction - it'll be interesting to see how long it takes for SFTM to delete it. (Misspellings were required to get past West's filter.)
---------------------------------- SFTM: if I were you, I'd be pretty embarrassed by this article. If West is too pure of heart to be associated with GA's, it shouldn't have bought the site in the first place. You were afraid you'd get sued, so you started deleting posts with content that you were afraid was too specific, defeating the purpose of the boards. You also deleted some smut. However, as I recall, some of the "potty mouth" words you deleted were "P@t@r Th@tt@m" and "www.l@wt@lkers.com". Some folks decided that an alternative site would be more useful, and put a lot of hard work into setting it up. You plant an article smearing them, engaging in the very behavior you were afraid might happen here. You then accuse THEM of failing to "grow up." Here's a hint - your strategy for improving your corporate image is backfiring. |
book recommendation
I just read Positively Fifth Street, by James McManus, and liked it. He went to the World Series of Poker (not sure I have the title right -- there are others) in Las Vegas to cover it, and used his advance to enter the tournament. Not worth reading if you don't want to read about poker. If you do, you might also pick up The Biggest Game In Town, by A. Alvarez, an account of the 1981 World Series.
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/03...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Positively Fifth Street is just out, so you have to buy it in hardcover, but stores like Cody's are selling it for 30% off, and Amazon is selling it for 40% off. |
