You do not read scotch.

Put down the books, go out, drink. Then come back and talk to us.
Kind of why I made the statement. I don't drink scotch and was curious as to the truth of it.

And no - Jack Daniels is not bourbon. I drink bourbon. Jack Daniels is a Tennessee whiskey made with charcoal. I don't like Jack for the same reason I don't like Johnny Black. No charcoal.
Damn, you're high maintenance. If it's free booze, you're lucky to be getting Thunderbird.

I generally only wear them in small gatherings where serious drinking is going on. I do not wear them to larger functions.
Hmm. I hadn't thought of that as a prerequisite to serious drinking. But after serious drinking, who even knows what anyone is wearing?

putting things together

I used to be a geek, but since I cannot even conceive of sitting through one of the the Lord of The Rings movies in a theatre I must have lost that status.

Now, I love to put things together. Trains, computers, whatever. If something is broken I can often take it apart, fiddle with it for a while and fix it. That said, for some reason, I cannot figure out my nephew's pack and play. I cannot set it up. I cannot take it down. The thing drives me nuts. Do they make these things impossible to work so that a new parent's life can be even more stressful or what?

But if you prefer, take Sebby's word for it and buy the cheap blended stuff with a red label.

NFL (paigow please skip)

Fassel has been fired. He will coach last two games of the season though.

Here is si's list of potential replacements (nothing great, I think):

"Among the possible successors to Fassel are LSU coach Nick Saban, former Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin, and the Patriots' two coordinators: Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis. Coughlin, Crennel and Weis were Giants assistants under Bill Parcells."

Get Project Gotham or Project Gotham II for a really fun driving game with lots of options and lots of skill levels for rookies and the experienced. Gamer dude at the Best Buy told me that the only game to have is HALO, it's like totally the best game out there and it's their hottest seller. But more fun if you play on-line - which I don't do. All the guys at husbands company play NFL football on-line with headsets so they can trash talk the kids who think they've got game.

They had this same photo online last night. When I saw it, I wondered how anyone could doubt that she was his daughter. The resemblance is uncanny.

Many single malts have a great taste, that is distinctive etc....
Single malts are good when you'll have 1 or 2 scotches, then switch to wine.

The only bad part of single malts is that 4 or more single malts equals a hangover. One can drink a good deal more JWBlack and be perky the next day. I'm not sure why a good blend equals no hangover, while single does, but its true.

You can tell the three credit agencies (Experian, Trans Union and Equifax) that you do not want them giving your information to companies in response to requests you did not initiate. This essentially means that credit card companies and loan refi company's don't get your name for mailing lists from the three companies. Within a couple of months after submiting the request, the number of solicitations I get dropped to almost zero.

I will still be sending you pictures of my kids though, asshole.

Alright, I'll admit that I watched it. Looks like they picked the four straight guys who actually followed their advice. Nothing too exciting I guess... But it was gross to see that all the toys and clothes going to charity were being stored in a freaking shower stall. I'm sure the eventual recipients would have preferred a cleaner/less mold prone location.

Those staged "tips" throughout the show were highly annoying. The reunion show confirmed for me that this shark has been jumped (I had suspicions, but since I haven't watched this season I needed confirmation).
Yeah but did you watch the QESG "making the video" show and Celebrity Poker? It's all Bravo, all Tuesdays for me now.

For what it is worth, I thought the video and the show were pretty amusing; they confirm that Thom is the shit. Ted's handling of the wine bottles is pretty sweet though.

And on Celebrity Poker, I give worst move of the night to Mo for calling big bets with her pocket 8s with two overcards on the board. Improbably, Nicole played very well and if Hank Azaria or Michael Ian Black weren't going to win, I was thrilled that she did.

Simply untrue (and unsurprisingly so, given some of the things you say on the politics board).

But the key to avoiding hangover on any scotch is a lot of good, pure water (on the side, not in the damn drink people).
