Comfortable heels?

today's Journal reports:

Howard Dananberg's Insolia Invisible Comfort System in Amalfi brand heels.
Taryn Rose has a patented arch design.
Stuart Weitzman's fall styles will for the first time contain a material used in sneakers that conforms to the shape of the feet.
Nine West Group Inc. is expanding comfort features into heels.

However, foot experts say creating a really comfortable heel that's higher than about 2 inches is next to impossible. High heels transfer weight to the ball of the foot and constrict toes in small, pointy spaces, leading to foot deformities such as corns, bunions, pinched nerves, claw toes, stress fractures and ingrown toenails.

Shoes your humble correspondent brc might test on behalf of her readers. I imagine PLF would be particularly appreciative. It can't be easy for a guy with feet that big and hairy to find comfortable heels for cross-dressing.

If you're going to change the subject to bad movies, this list isn't a bad start. I'd add "nuns on the run" I'd also caveat that some of the movies on the list have a good scene or two, like in "Jason Takes Manhattan" Jason looking up at the hockey billboard with a goalie mask subtitled, "Meet the competition" or his pacifying some street punks simply by lifting his mask or being asked for his best shot by a boxer and knocking off the boxer's head. Actually, in retrospect, that movie wasn't that bad at all, off the list it goes.

I havent but numerous friends have, including the gay best friend from high school who just got back yesterday. I can ask him any questions you have. So far I know there were copious amounts of drugs and hair color involved, and I think a fluorescent orange tutu that he had custom made. I am working on getting a picture from him of it.

I can't believe Erika lost HOH and uglyman won because the tie break question had a fucking Price Is Right closest without going over rule. Erika's off by 6 hours, Robert is off by 600, and Robert wins. It's a cruel world.

Erika better win that veto, or she's going to be kicking herself whenever she thinks of that asshole driving his Carrera to his job at 7-11 after blowing the rest of the dough on stuff other than his kid.

I can't believe I even care. Back to billpay.
SPOILER

This does not bode well for the nonassholes, of whom only Erika is left. She is nomnated as is the sumo wrestler. Hopefully there will be another veto competition left (didnt they end early last year? ) Please let Erika win. Then she taks herself off and the bulldog goes up. who would erika save? Fatty McAllthat or the bulldog? Fucking robert is disgusting. I cant believe he didnt even mention putting some money away for his poor doomed child. Hopefully that Bitches, Sluts and Whores comment will make its way to the ladies and whoever goes against him wins.

If Erika is out I think I may have to stop watching. I cant bear to se someone who thinks of women that way, or someone who pronounces brie as "bry" or someone who doesnt date within her own race, thinks she is hot when she isnt and has squandered 10K on shoes to win. Go Boobjob Lady!

Copenhagen
Robert Earl Keen

Now, I went out last Sunday with my little Mary-Ann
She said please stay still Monday, and grabbed me by my can
She laid a big one on me, suprised me with her tongue,
But her surprise was waitin' there, between my cheek and gum.

Chorus:
Copenhagen, what a wad of flavor.
Copenhagen, you can see it in my smile.
Copenhagen, do yourself a favor.
Chew Copenhagen, drive them pretty girls wild.

So I went to the movies with my little Peggy-Sue,
I had my dip there in my lip just like I always do.
She didn't know that I was spittin' in my Coca-Cola cup,
She took a great big swoller' and threw her popcorn up! Oh!

Chorus:

The moral of this story is so very sad but true.
If you stay 'till breakfast friend, they'll want to marry you.
So try my little method and I promise you no doubt
Dip some Copenhagen if you want to snuff 'em out.

I actually saw all of the Faces of Death films -- I can't believe that I am the only one, I thought everyone had seen at least one. Some of it is most definitely fake but a lot is just swiped news footage and independent video that they won't show on TV -- like they will show the car crash but not the burned bodies sticking out of the windshield on TV but you get it on FoD. The dude in the electric chair is nifty, real or not. Most of FoD is just *yawn* unless you are a 12 year old boy.

I never went to sleepaway camp. Absolutely refused to and folks thought it was kinda silly anyway. To this day I get distressed at the idea of spending a night away from home -- can't sleep or "potty" when anywhere but home. We had daytime hockey camp which was way cooler. You got to spend the day playing hockey and then go home to "potty" and sleep -- schweet.

lawsuit!

After two episodes of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Culture Guy Blair Boone was replaced by Jai Rodriguez. Now Blair is suing producers for $105,000, or the "$3,000-per-episode for a 'full production year' of 35 episodes" he would have received, the New York Post reports. His lawyer tells the Post "the show offered 'a little bit' of money for Boone to 'go away' before he filed suit in U.S. District Court." Earlier, producers replaced Culture Guy James Hannaham, who was featured in the unaired pilot; he wrote about his experience.

I thought Blair said he left because he had "other commitments"?

Anyway, they're both friggin useless, so can't they just soothe Blair's ego by firing Jai?

Maybe the producers determined that Fab 4 didn't have a nice enough ring to it.

I really expected Jai to do "jazz hands!" this week during the SG dance lesson. Actually, if one of my gay friends had been giving the lesson, "jazz hands!" would have definitely been taught, just for the laugh at watching the SG do it on tape. But we are mean that way.

I'm still trying to teach her "roll over."

On her kiss with Madonna:

"I've never kissed a woman before," Spears said demurely.

When asked if she would "do it again," she squealed, "No, I would not do it," but then added, "Maybe with Madonna."

On Iraq:

"Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that," she said.

On tv:

However much she would like to avoid cameras following her everywhere, she said she really enjoys the reality TV shows.

When asked what else she watched, she said, "Oh CNN – all the time, all the time."

Spoilers

First, I agree that Erika got screwed. Robert clearly isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer (and his feelings towards women have become more evident), and he wasn't even close. But Erika should have guessed more conservatively to avoid going over. This was, I think, the most exciting HoH yet; there seems to be a lot more riding on it now.

Second, I think that Jun played her week of HoH pretty well. She can beat Alison, and that's probably it. I think that Erika, against Jun, might get Justin and Jee's votes, plus Jack and Alison, and maybe even Nathan. Only Robert would definitely vote against her. Dana is a toss up.

Alison can't beat anybody. Nathan, Dana, Justin and Jee have to be definite votes against her, probably with Jack, too. She will be in until the final two unless there is some veto tomfoolery from BB this week.

How does the veto work this week? It's still competed for before nominations and announced after them, I'm sure. Does that mean that, if the veto holder is not a nominee, and vetoes someone off, no one gets put up in her place? Or can the veto holder be nominated after vetoing someone else off?

Also, with respect to the veto, does golden mean that you can't be nominated in place of the person you veto, or that you can veto yourself off? Or both. And which, if not both of those qualities, does previous seasons' regular veto not have?

Jun forced Alison to use the veto on herself and play her hand. The word is out about Alison and I can't believe that anyone will lose to her. I know that the point of the sequesteration is that the others not see her messages in the diary room, but surely people realize what kind of person she is.

Next week, when there are three left, is there still a regular HoH competition? What about veto?

Anyway, I am still interested. At the end, I think that Erika can beat everyone, except maybe not Robert. He gets Jee, Justin, probably Dana and maybe even Nathan. Erika gets Jack and the two girls. I think Robert can also maybe beat Jun and definitely Alison. If it's Jun and Alison, I think Jun pulls it out, but that depends on how Jee, Robert and Justin vote.

Isn't June Allison (sp?) the spokesperson for Depends undergarments? I can't read the above quote without snickering.

You dont think it is indicative of a case of self loathing not to date one of your own? Not to mention racist? Like you would never go out with a white guy? It screams of issues.

Edited to add that Bilmore the person seems pretty cool (or as cool as a Republican can be).

But my version of "No Exit" would have me in a McMansion in the suburbs with 3 kids driving a suburban taking the little fuckers to some theme park, NTTAWWT.
Now you are just trying to make sweet cyber love to me.

[one dead after tomato prank goes bad in Amish territory]

quote from the article --

Keim was with about 10 other members of the Amish community, ages 15 to 23. The group told the sheriff's office they had been throwing tomatoes and firing paintball guns at passing vehicles.

Tomatoes, those pranksters! And... Wait.... Paintball guns?!? Must be some of those antique paintball muskets that were around during the Revolutionary War.

Um, don't you have any real friends?
If cancer keeps bumping my friends off like it did to my best friend last week, not for much longer, no.

BTW, just because some coke dealer visits you every week, that doesn't mean he's your "friend".
