But I do like hoppy beers, and concur on the Celebration. It is not my favorite winter (Sam Smith's), but it's good.

Sebastian, poor predictable Sebastian, poor silly I-read-Fear-and-Loathing-fifteen-too-many-times Sebastian unsurprisingly goes for the metric of dick length being proportional to your beer's alcohol content. You should get a Beer Fridge.

This is also soothing to the soul:

And, just for Sebby, 11% alcohol.

That last one is just silly. Somebody bought me a case of it in college and even then it took a few weeks to plow through the stuff.

Had some Dogfish Head Ale Chicory Stout (on tap) last nite. It was my new favorite non-belgian christmas brew, at least for last night:

I like hops. The more, the better. And since they always come with an extra kick in the alcohol percent category, it's a win/win.

The Bell's Expedition Stout is simply amazing. Their Double Cream Stout is also great, but Expedition is the tastiest beer I've had.

I was going to pick up a case of that last week, but "Chicory" put me off, so I went with an old standby. Should I reconsider?

Done. As dirty and sad as it makes me feel, I completely agree with the sentiments behind your description of sparkling colorful holiday labels flitting about your precious little fridge, or whatever you wrote. Leave it to Thurgreed turn beer drinking into a mechanistic chore.

I don't think my big dick was caused by a like of hoppy beers. In my formative high school years I drank Michelob.

That'd be Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale.

Don't be scared. It's an herb, like marijuana (eta: that's an herb, right?)....you were never put off by that.

Marijuana is indeed and herb. An innocent harmless herb, like Rosemary or Sage. That's why they call it "herb."

Or at least that's what Sebastian and his horde of slack-jawed comrades with their glassy eyes and Smokin'-Cheddar-BBQ-Dorito-stained fingers would have you believe. Don't believe the hype, my brother.

Garfunkel's right here. It's no mere rosemary, sage or parsley. Hell, it's not even thyme.

Demon weed... Pants crusted with semen from jacking off when you can't find a rape victim, cooking babies into "California Cheeseburgers" in the convection oven... Click clack click clack (you know the rest). Just say no. Or "just a bat hit or two."

You would be disappearing into nothingness in my rear view mirror for me to make out your expression. But the same is duly noted here. for future reference. As necessary.

By the by, I passed a car today that had a bumper sticker that said "you have just been passed by a toaster!" and there was a pic of a stik person with ear muffs next to the word toaster. Translation please?

Is this right? I don't think so (in part because the strongest beers I am aware of, mostly out of Belgium, or not very hoppy at all). Also because hops were originally added as a preservative.

You know what you might find soothing? Put the bottle down, walk away from the computer, find a comfortable chair and try to think non-angry thoughts.

practice pointer? if you want people to follow your advice make the first step something easier than "put the bottle down." sorry.

I love this guy. His distributor tried to play hardball with him in Illinois and he took his toys and went home. Told them to fuck off. Left a market that bought 10% of his beer because he didn't like the way he was being treated.

Plus, I've heard third-hand stories of him showing up drunk at house parties at Western Michigan with a case of Oberon.

And Bells is finally back in Chicago.
