Well, it's not just the partisan mudslinging (which is my favorite kind), it's just that it was so perfectly executed and spot on. But surely, you must be wrong about Penske's party affiliation because Republicans are simply not permitted to live in Seattle. Republicans MUST live east of the mountains (e.g. Spokane), it's the law.

How in the world is this censorship? They’re still selling the magazines. Frankly, my kids don’t need to read “99 sexy ways to touch him” and “Be a sex kitten this summer” while I’m paying for contact lens solution and toothpaste.

The second sentence is false and before you ask me for a cite (please?) I note the phenomenon of Jennifer Dunn.

As to my address/political affiliation, yes, believe it or not I generally vote republican but I live in Seattle. However, fwiw, I live very close to the border though so it may be the pull of suburbia that is effecting my political compass.

OTOH, regardless of my political affiliation I would no sooner vote for Baghdad Jim McDermott than I would for [right wing fascist of your choice].

Technically isn't DC her address? And I believe the only "colony" of displaced Republicans is allowed in Snohomish. If you don't live there - I'm sending Patty Murray after your ass.

Sorry I'm a spaz and my link was bad, but the rest of the article said that they were removing some other magazines from the stores.
Also, remember the more you try to keep things hidden from kids and the curious, the more attractive it becomes.

This isn't. But they have banned other magazines (FHM and Maxim, among others) and also the "adult" lyrics versions of albums. Wal-Mart is far from a champion of free-speech.

annoyance and amusement at attorneys

Well, if burger can say why he's annoyed by dork lawyers, I can say what I like or dislike about other lawyers. Let's see:

I don't like partners taking on work in which their experience is lacking or delegating work to a senior associate whose experience in the area is lacking. It's nuts for clients to pay for some partner or senior associate to learn an area of law.

I'm amused at the many senior associates whose egomania has convinced them they are strong candidates for partnership. So many associates ignore all facts to the contrary and think they're on track, or could be if they gave a damn, until they're given the cold brush off. When they actually do get passed over though, it's hard not to sympathize, at least a bit (except for the real jerks, it's hard to sympathize with those).

I don't like it when someone demands work product long before necessary. Of course, once people trust you to meet actual deadlines, they tend not to impose deadlines that make your life hell for nothing.

It's a hassle to delicately, oh so delicately, got about persuading someone their intuition, recollection or research into something is, dare I say it -- wrong. But you can't risk doing otherwise when so many lawyers are thin-skinned egomaniacs.

I mostly like my job. If I didn't I do something else. Unlike sebby, I won't do a job unless I mostly like it.

I thought this tune was familiar but could not quite place it when I suddenly realized it was Squirming Coil by Phish. The weather channel playing Phish- thats kinda fucked, isnt it?

As a restult I busted out Lawnboy which I hacent listened to since that last Phish show at the CApitol Theater where, as a 22 yo, I was the oldest person there and it freaked me. All the sixteen you Fairfield Cty pseudos, ugh. But Lawnboy rocks as hard as ever. Great choice Weather Channel programmers!

sun screen

Ok, well, we didn't have too much sun on our camping weekend. Frankly, I am glad I couldn't make it out until Saturday morning, sleeping in a tent in a down poor isn't my idea of fun. But we did have sun the second day and I wore a spray on Coppertone Sport. SPF 30.

I just used it on my face and my arms since we were hiking, it worked really well.

It was a bit sticky at first but that went away pretty quickly.

Ok, so I can't type. Down POUR.
