I'm with you. I celebrated Day without Gay!* yesterday by skipping the office and spending some time in the pool and on the treadmill. Later I celebrated by rehydrating with some Bollinger Special Cuvee, yet again offering insight into why my best shot at the Queen K these days is the lottery.

*coincidentally my gay assistant showed up and worked yesterday. Well I think he worked, but, of course, I wasn't there so who knows what he did.

Some days I lament the loss of the search function on this site. You know what I mean?

I mean, I remember clear as yesterday Sebby's post of regret, denigration, bafflement, and longing so pure that it curls one's toes - on the kids these days (especially the girls) who text one another messages like U WANNA FUK and circulate naked cellphone photos.

I learned today that this phenomenon has a name. "Sexting". Apparently, 20% of teens and 33% of young adults send each other nude or semi-nude pics.

This is nice and all, but having aged out of this demographic already, I suppose there's not much more we can do but wait until the trend spills over onto Facebook.

Once inside the penguin habitat, you will get to know some of our 60-plus penguins. You will also hand-feed them and there will be plenty of photo opportunities, too!

My tweets are usually no more than R rated, but sexxxting is something to be embraced regardless of age. In the 70s it was streaking, I have just updated my delivery system.

Aged out of what? Everybody has photos of their SOs nude these days (correction... I have them of her, not the other way around [which is more than fine with me]). What I'm mad about is our generation never accepted a structure where you could ask for sex so casually. Without getting slapped.

We need a world where you can just politely ask someone to have sex. Nothing untoward. No skeevy sex club stuff. Just a laid back type of a place with normal people who want to fuck, where anyone can just approach somebody else with the implicit understanding that you want to get to fucking sooner rather than later. Sooner being measured in fifteen minute increments. The kids and their sexting... That is the online equivalent of such a place. And of that, yes, I am insanely, raging jealous.

BTW, are you doing Santa Con this weekend? Most of the people I know doing it are hitting the Mission / Castro route, but there's also a Haight route and Fisherman's Wharf route.

ETA: LA was last Saturday. I hear clowns came to protest. Houston was on Saturday, with the seventh annual Santa reenactment of the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Sunday.

A friend of mine was in SF on a family trip a few years back and stumbled on Santacon; they took a nice family pic with a group of friendly Santas. Kids were probably 9 and 12 at the time. There was a story on NPR last Friday on the Portland thing! I missed Houston all together because of another party in the country, though I suspect that a bunch of Santas are going to hit the ice rink downtown for another go sooner or later.

My baby steps is that I'm going to go every day this week, even if the weather sucks (and boy, does it suck). That means I've run in freezing rain two out of the last two days.
