Sadly, the thing I was trying to translate was a Yahoo Taiwan news article about a friend's dad and uncle who were swept out to sea while swimming there. Both have been found now. Her dad died one week after his 60th birthday.

There is little to explain because there is little to understand. The tribes have their mandatory apparel. The hipsters have their unfortunate looking Vans and Converse. The douchebags have their Ed Hardy. The . . . well, I am not sure what tribe wears the Hollister and Aeropostale but they move with great numbers. There is nothing more to it than that, and there is nothing to be gained from loving, hating, or trying to study this axiom of modern life.

Hollister is so horrifying from a retail perspective. I and one of my girlfriends wandered in there after a cocktail dress hunt at Neiman's and tried to figure out who shops at Hollister, spending a lot of money on nothing, in the dark.
