Do you think a 7 and 5 year old could fit in the back (third row) of the MDX?

Yes, in the near term. But my son was 5 ft 1 at 10, and definitely couldn't at that point. (Well, we could cram him in there, but his knees hit the 2nd row seats, so it wasn't ideal.)

I'd like a million of them all around my cell.

Japanese cars, Japanese toilets - who won the goddamned war, anyway?

Sorry. Just channeling my father there for a minute. I give you the Vapors to make up for it.

Carry on.

No, but I'll make sure my servants do it.

I don't get it myself. Never bought either one.

But Japanese scotch - there's a product!

See if you can find last year's model. The current model will be comically expensive.

I could probably watch an entire college football game on that thing.

I keep hearing this, but I have had none. Feels kind of wrong, but if I'm interested in trying a wee dram, where do I start?

Is the absence of a third row a non-starter? Personally, I think an excuse not to have 4+ kids in the car is a positive.

Q5 if no third row needed. Q7 if needed.

You guys are like my own personal Consumer Reports. Thanks.

Anyway, has the lease vs. buy discussion changed given potential technological advances? If I buy a car now is anyone going to want it in 2022? If we have self-driving cars in 10 years, maybe leasing is smarter?

Poor kids these days with their booster seats and seat belts. Road trips were so much easier in a full-size converted van. Our third row bench seat in our van had a button you could press to flatten it out into a bed. And we never wore seat belts in the back.

Are you going to finance it? Will you replace it before it's paid off with another car you finance? If so, then why not lease?

I generally prefer to pay cash and have now had my car for almost 10 years. If you're going to do that, I would not lease.

Depends on whether you want a self-driving car in 10 years. If you want to drive yourself, who cares?

I wish one could lease just the Nav system. My 12 year old car is just fine without all the electronics. But when I replace it and inevitably get one that has a Nav, I'm not looking forward to having features controlled in 2025 by a 2016 nav system.

I'm at the beginning of my Japanese scotch education program, but have yet to have one I didn't enjoy and find interesting. I also haven't yet gone overly high end, so can't tell you about the 20-something single malts, but Yamazaki and Hakushu are both pretty widely available and have great 18 year olds. I've also had some specially produced Yamazakis. I had a Yoichi that had some hints of almost Islay like smoke, but less peaty.

I would finance it. I don't know when I'd replace it.

The less driving for me, the better.
