I just want to say that the Quran suggests all Christians must be obliterated..The Bible says love one another...HMMMM wonder why a Christian would have intrepidation about a leader having a faith of mass destruction of the very ideals this country was founded on.?????..HMMMMMMMMM. I'd be content with a nice Jewish President to start. But really, don't we want absolutely every kid in this country, of any color, race, religion, gender, no matter what color their car, even the prematurely bald people, to all think that someday it is possible for them to be President?

In this whole exchange that's been going on among the Rs the most disappointing thing to me is not Carson or Trump but Bush. All the Bushes have always been rational (if conservative) on immigration issues, and seeing Jeb go nativist is just deeply disappointing and much more shocking to me than seeing a representative of the wacko Christian right spewing bigotry.

Part of me thinks that Christian leaders who know this is horseshit really have a responsibility to speak out against it. The person who wrote this isn't going to listen to you and me. Anyone who is disaffected, looking to Christianity, and at risk of being drawn to this sort of racist, bigoted, divisive and sick thinking -- such a person is only likely to be saved (not "SAVED" in the Jesus sense, but saved as in kept from being radicalized in this way) - by Christian leaders with the balls to step up and push back against this.

But part of me thinks that I should ask what color car she drives.

Clinton views himself as worry of worship; he's more of a Hindu or Buddhist, religions where mortals can aspire to become at least a minor God. On Bush, you just need to get to know more Episcopalians. It's understandable you could mistake Episcopalianism for athiesm. Nixon, well, probably more of a Satanist, but we'll never know.

But I didn't say he was atheist. I said he's probably not terribly far from being agnostic. As in he'd at least be comfortable saying (privately), "yeah, I don't really know whether there's a god, but I choose to believe anyway."

Anyway, I don't really get the sense that faith and worship are particularly important to him. Which is a compliment.

On another topic, is there even a semblance of comedy left to Bill Maher? Why do people still call him a comedian? It's just endless rants about anything Islamic, from a 14 year old kid on. The idea of "Bill Maher comedy" increasingly strikes me as kind of like the idea of "Fox News".

Also, I am finding myself contemplating the day when President Clinton appoints Obama as Chief Justice. I think that's about the only way to beat the joy of a Pope/Obama lovefest. Good times.
