Do, or do not. There is no try.

Not whiffing (for me at least) at all but it looks like from the Wikipedia definition that mondegreen is more singing "excuse me while I kiss this guy" when listening to Jimi Hendrix. So not quite the same?

ETA that when I scrolled a little further down, the Wikipedia page uses this very example.

The whole family? Is this before or after the keys go in the bowl?

Assumption. 20 months old. Odds are against continued breastfeeding, although I know a few people who were fed well beyond two years (not me).

La Leche League
She's going until he's 12.

What did we used to say, back in the day? "If the baby can ask for it, time to stop" that was a gross visual. a 12 year old kid hanging off...even a great boob. gah.

apropos of nothing. classic, old school snl "makin' copies" "deeep thoughts" and church lady.

One of my friends from college writes a blog in which she posted recently that her daughter is 16 months old and still is breast feeding. I want to host an intervention.

Precocious puberty or not, that's beyond the pale. Probably illegal even in AK.

i know there used to be fights about this, but forget who took the "over" side.

my kids BF until over 2. after 6 months it's more comfort than food. they're screwed up, but I think within the range of normal for screwed up kids.

Seriously? Sixteen months? "Breastfeeding should be continued for at least the first year of life and beyond for as long as mutually desired by mother and child." Policy Statement, American Academy of Pediatrics. I look forward to seeing the entire list of doctor recommended behaviors that you consider gross because some adults think of them as gross or sexual -- things like digital exams by gynecologists and proctologists. Or surgeries.

All of my kids weaned naturally at various points before age 2, but a number of months at least after age 1. And there is no other country on earth that has this hang up, but of course they're all bad and wrong.

Or am I whiffing?

My only rule is that it's time to quit if the kid starts calling the shots on mom's diet. "Really? Brussels sprouts?"
