Wow - that was quite a compliment. I just need to keep you away from some people so your nice opinion of me is not crushed by the awful truth.

The reasons why I avoid the Fashion Board are:

1) Most of the time I can't understand what people are talking about. I have known LessinSF for almost thirty years and I have no idea what most of his posts mean.

2) I have no interest in reality TV. I just can't get into it.

3) I have gotten so lazy that I have stopped renting movies (let alone actually going to a theater). TV commercials drive me crazy, but of course I have been to lazy to get Tivo. I have figured I can peruse books on line so I have become an Amazon.com whore. So I am just not up on popular culture anymore.

4) I am culturally challenged. I minored in Italian and British Renaissance art in College, and have spent the last twenty years of my life trying to purge the nightmare of all those damn slides of Madonna and Child and Chirst on the Cross. Even after all those slideshows and living in Italy, France and England, I would rather have dogs playing poker than a Monet on my wall. Some of us are just not wired for higher culture.

I am bewildered by the characterization of the FB as higher culture (albeit in the same post as a reference to reality TV), but this does emphasize another point I have made recently: we are all Atticus tribute socks.

I am an aging heterosexual single male that has been chasing the fairer sex all of my adult life. I clearly have committment issues. I used to go on the hunt every chance I got. More and more my urge to go hunting has been overwhelmed by my urge to sit home and read. The disease is definitely progressive and chronic.
