Ice? What kinda of pretender pussy are you?

Also, the cat in RT"s link looks an awful lot like the cat that used to be fringey's avatar.

Also, fucking ice?? Why not just order a Strongbow and be done with it?

When I did a semester in Dublin in 1991, men drank beer and whiskey. When I went back in 2006, it was cider with ice. It's like the EU took all the testosterone out of the Irish, and turned them into JaMarcus Russells drinking "purple drank" with Jolly Ranchers in it.

Cider was not uncommon among men when I was there in '97, and George Orwell leads me to believe that there is a strong cider drinking tradition among British working class men, so it isn't do much the cider that I object to. It's the ice.

We are talking about talking a drink that is mild-flavored to sweet to begin with and chilling/watering it some more so that it must taste like nothing. Sounds Orange to me.

And on that note, I guess I better root for Spain in the final, although I think despite my better instincts, I would prefer the pot-smokers.

The Ring of Kerry is touristy, but I think there's good touristy (think taking a cable car in San Francisco) and bad touristy (think spending the day at Pier 39). For me, the Ring of Kerry was the former.

She is marrying babydaddy on the 24th.

But she contends she is still entitled to alimony for this month.

To BnB, I'm glad she's finally marrying the guy as your hubby didn't have the "shack up" termination clause in the alimony provision. She may be greedy for holding off as long as she did and wanting that last monthly payment but could have milked him much longer.

Agreement says "Alimony is due and payable on the last day of the month". Also says, "All obligations cease as of the date of the remarriage of the wife."

If the obligation ceases on the 24th, he doesn't owe her anything on the 31st, at least IMHO.

the fight is for the payment due 31 July? was there a payment made the first day, i.e. the start of the order?

Sure, seems like a reasonable reading. But so does a reading that the alimony obligation continues until the 23d, but the payment isn't due until the end of the month. Of course, unless this is some ginormous alimony check you're not going to litigate over it. So perhaps instead he should offer 50% of 23/31st and explain that that is an even split of 0 or the most he should pay. But if the offer is zero he's going to have to continue to fight. Isn't it worth $1000 just to end that?

it strikes me an alimony payment would be for the ex to live the next month. in theory it is money for food etc. if the payment due on the 31st is for living through August then nothing is due. In fact a refund may be in order from a week of the money paid June 30. at a minumum you could take the position she actually owes you guys money.

however, I would not mention anything until you hear she went through with the wedding.

Now and then Hank and I agree.

Burger, please notify your carrier.

There is no point to doing anything until after the wedding. If she's looking for assurances that it will be paid, he can just respond by saying "I meet my obligations (bitch)". At that point, don't pay and wait for her demand. The first respond to the demand ought to be "What planet are you from? Can you read?"

You (or hubby, whatever) have the money. She wants it. It is not your job to fulfill her desires or make it easy for her to get it.

Offer $1000 now? She's just want more. More! That's all you ever here from these people. More!
