Okay, 11 was great and the kids too. And all the drama of the monster and the mystery of the goop in the basement.

But there's this top level government agency apparently doing mind control experiments with at least one gifted person. Are there others, or is 11 unique? I assume there are others, but nothing more about it, or the goals of the program, other than some hints.

But that wasn't my problem. The government had little idea what the monster or the goop was about? They sent their guy in there to find out, but that didn't go well. So this monster, who steals people to be hosts for it's babies, has taken up residence in this otherwise protected lab; but there's no apparent tie to the mind control stuff. At a minimum, say the government hopes to someday harness this monster, at least move the mind control stuff somewhere safer. I mean I didn't see the upside down as anything the government really knew about, or did I miss something?

It just started with "here's a bunch of really weird shit," and the promise of explaining it, but the end was "well that was some really weird shit." Disappointing.

Plus it sucks Will is likely dying.

P.S. just saw there's a season two so maybe they go into stuff more?

Not sure they were looking into using the monster. Seemed to me they wanted to explore the other dimension which only 11 had access to. I think they were pushing her to do that and when she came across the monster, she opened up the portal with her mind powerage and caused a whole bunch of problems. Yeah, they sent the dumbass with no powers through the portal. But the goal was always to study why the shit they did with 11 worked so they could weaponize it. Everything else seemed exploratory.

Maybe more answers next time. But that doesn't really bother me. The story is the kids. As long as they bring back 11, I'll be happy. But it would make me more happy if they dump Winona Ryder. Jesus, she's awful. Also, Nancy is emaciated. She looks unhealthy.

Finally, it sure would be great if there were more people of color. Holy crap.

My husband: Have you ever noticed in lily white towns like this, the principal is always the one black dude?

So long as they put Dustin in charge of all decision making, they should be in good shape.

Will has a worm growing in him. Unless 11 comes back that ain't getting fixed. Although now the upside down is safer for exploring (except there are probably some hatched monster babies, depending on gestation period?).

I didn't catch she had opened it. They really didn't show her doing much outside the room, other than looking for that guy, but I assumed he was walking around Moscow or where ever. They should have tied it more. But with season 2, okay. I gave the Killing season 2 and i didn't like that nearly so much.

Deputies are usually diverse too.

But yeah, it is just odd at this point.

I've been watching The Get Down, which I have been enjoying so far. Here is some Meters for the Daily Dose. Funky Miracle. Funk is indeed a miracle.

I kind of feel that picking your avatar photo was your high point, and it's been downward slope since:confused: Not to say you aren't still posting at a really high level, just that was such a high water mark, who could expect you to keep that up?

That is not surprising given that Pushy The Puppy found the avatar photo. But I would argue that any post with a link to a Meters tune is automatically among the most valuable posts on this entire chatting board forum.

Conf to Flower: Friendly practice pointer? Penske {sob!} was the guy who gave drafting advice, but let me see if I can do this one thing? Everyone knows the second sentence is your opinion, the "I would argue that" only takes away from the impact your thesis otherwise would carry. WTTW

I think they just realized 11 passed through the upside down world to do her dirty work but didn't really mobilize it.
