ogg file here

If you can't at least try to pronounce it, you shouldn't be a newscaster.

It bothers me that it is always just "the Icelandic volcano". Better to do it badly and just say Aya-Fudge-Joke-l

No, a Catholic youth organization field trip for pre-teen boys that I was chaperoning. Why?

Actual Fashion Question

Now that I'm in my mid-30s, I figure I can start dressing like my dad. Besides my Keen sandals, what are your thoughts on either of these shoes with shorts?

piece of advice- artest looks to a guy with perfect taste to copy- rodman is the gold standard and that hair is a safe choice. when it comes to Chicago shoes choices for a lawyer on the fast track to hetero-but-looks-bear-like, stalk wonk and see what he wears. if he pulls it off so can you. ywia

I think it was Weed who recommended The Awl here some time ago, and I've been mildly addicted to reading that blog ever since.

The stuff there is usually funny, if sometimes odd. Here's an example of both, discussing pedal-pumping porn fetishes, a turn-on which I must admit I've never really considered before.

So I've read it, I've thought about it, and I still don't get it, so I guess I need some guidance. Flinty? Help a guy out here?

Oh my god. I must have been given accidental access to the white guys meetings.

(It's not quite as informative as I thought it would be.)

Of course I'm watching. I'm enjoying it so far. It seems a bit slow, but they're clearly developing the characters and establishing the scene. We've picked out like 3 people we recognize from Spike's documentary. We also watched a piece on the making of Treme, which was cool. They use a lot of people, from actual New Orleans musicians to chefs to plain old citizens, some on film, some not, to make sure the show is authentic.

It's a pretty good show. Nowhere near as good as The Wire, but I'll stick around to see where they're going.

I myself prefer the Sperry. Either one is fine.

Is there a way to deactivate TM's access before Wednesday's meeting on keeping him down? I just don't want there to be a lot of awkwardness or confrontation.

Bombard him with underboob emails. That will keep him busy for a while.

Anything -- or, at least, any kind of boob* -- would be worlds better than more pictures of old white-guy shoes.

*Except fat-boob or man-boob. Sorry, Wonk.
