And yet people will come up with the most outlandish excuses ("I have a cell phone!" "There are clocks in the courthouse!") instead of just admitting this.

Nice, but too many tries. At least you got rid of the Flinty "joke."

How many pounds of biker rings did they find during your last colonoscopy?

So, in other words, no wife.

I do not eat fried chicken, but regardless would not chose it over seafood.

Ironweed sealed that deal with roofies, maybe he will let you borrow a couple (I understand that they are more reliable than "brainwashering"), although you'll probably have to invite him to the wedding, which is not a pretty thing generally, but worse if you offer an open bar.

There are exceptions in the "practical shoe" world, but the Jimmy Choos of the world are no more likely to last than the Nine Wests. Doesn't mean the Jimmy Choos aren't more stylish though.

That's because the entire point of nice women's shoes is to end up with them pointing in the air, not walking on the sidewalk.

Just a thought.

I hear those problems can be avoided as long as the bar doesn't offer cider.

Great scotch doesn't cost a few extra grand. A really nice, 25-yo bottle of scotch is good to have around. It's a relatively cheap way to pamper the hell out of yourself.

Just make sure you have a cheaper bottle or two nearby.

Hhmmmm, I would beg to differ, but the last wedding we were at I ended up in the coatroom with a pair of cute 20-something waitresses, so I missed a lot of the action at the bar, although in fairness, I heard that it was a former A-list poster (and thus by definition not Weed) who got drunkest of the night, that night.

And someone with enough clarity to remind you that after the [first] 25 year old bottle is drained there are diminishing returns to opening another 25 yo bottle as your palatte will appreciate a 10 yo bottle just as much at that point.

"drain"? Who "drains" a 25-yo scotch?

You are never, ever being allowed access to my booze cabinet.

It's this sock's typical board rhetoric. IRL I savour fine wine and spirits like the classy gent that I am.

Sounds like a recipe to blow through $400-500 worth of scotch in a couple of weeks.

To her credit, in a room full of talented drinkers, she won going away. To my credit (or detriment depending on the goal) I avoided the tequila. At least to the extent that I remember.

I just can't be bothered with the unmatured amateur variety......I like women, not children, and apply that standard of maturity to my scotch and wine.

Which is why 18 > 30 > 12. 30 might taste better, but the baggage involved diminishes the marginal pleasure (note that 12 is apparently reserved for sex tourists like penske)

OTOH, I agree (which, in addition to a client obligation, is why I endured a Mileu Cyrus concert and after party earlier this week. No pain no gain my friend).

OTOH, depends on the aging process.

Well played, playa.

FWIW, last time I was there, Dennis Franz and I peed at the same time in adjacent, yet separate, urinals (no ice, sorry Mr. Bings), but, ftr, we maintained proper urinal etiquette and kept our dicks and eyes to ourselves.

Although I sense that he was impressed.
