He has a way with the sales pitch. Not that I disagree.

I believe that a rare Shape Shifter doll was on the list, but no way to know since the seller would not authenticate.

PETA uber alles

A recent PETA caimpaign takes on fat people. Now having engaged the fat, PETA sets aim on hillbillies, and in particular fat hillbillies.
http://naafa.org/peta3_files/peta3.htm (spree fat peopel news letter)
Quote:

The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) had expressed shock and outrage regarding the previous ad campaign from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The billboards, scheduled to pop up near airports around the country, show a large man’s stomach poking out under his T-shirt with the headline, “Don’t Buy Two Seats—Go Vegetarian.”

After considerable public outcry regarding this billboard campaign, PETA announced the Fat Fliers campaign would be pulled. However, shortly afterwards, PETA announced a new campaign (which includes live appearances throughout the country) that pokes fun at a fat Elvis headlined “Don’t Be Cruel to Your Heart and Body.” The announcement of the program (found on PETA’s website) states "Although it’s been a quarter of a century since Elvis died on his porcelain throne, millions of fans remain loyal to America’s 'king,' inspired by his signature style and soulful music. And judging by their own broadening bellies and bottoms, they are putting away the same unhealthy, fattening foods that he did."

Why the Hate?
Elvis never wore fur, or really any natural fabric.
Elvis is famous for eating fried peanut butter, not steak.
And you know what, I think animals liked Elvis...

And, if necessary, please them by "putting it in and reversing it", which I assume is a reference to TM like vile acts.

Good for her (honestly). I will note, however, that she didn't do it on the PGA. And if any female can compete with the men on the PGA in the future, it will be Wie. That girl has POWER.

Also note, Pak said the following after making the cut, "Yesterday and today has been the most burdening time of my professional career, psychological and mentally." So, as far as soundbites go, she's already prepared for The Tour.

TM

Edited to add: Also in the article: Shin Yong-jin, this year's money leader on the Korean tour, thought Pak benefited because of the layout.

"I think the course was made to have Se Ri Pak make the cut," Shin said. "I knew she would make the cut even before coming into the game."

Pak contends the course played to the men's strength.

"Because the fairways are wide and the course is short, I think it's more advantageous for the men," she said.

Most of the par 5s were downhill, half the par 4s shorter than 400 yards and all par 3s under 190 yards. Despite her short drives, Pak could hit the green with middle or short irons on most par 4s.

Shin said it would have been difficult for Pak to make the cut at Woo Jeong Hills, where LPGA veteran Laura Davies missed the cut against the men at the Asian PGA's Korean Open last month.

Show Me a Sign!

Lightning strikes Gibson's Christ

ROME, Italy -- Actor Jim Caviezel, who plays the son of God in Mel Gibson's controversial film "The Passion of Christ" has been struck by lightning during shooting.

Caviezel was uninjured, but a producer described how he saw smoke coming from the actor's ear.

An assistant director on the film, Jan Michelini, was also hit -- for the second time in a few months.

The first time, a lightning fork struck his umbrella during filming on top of a hill near Matera in Italy, causing light burns to the tips of his fingers, VLife, a supplement to Variety publications said in its October issue.

A few months later the second strike happened, a few hours from Rome.

Michelini was again carrying an umbrella, and standing next to Caviezel on top of a hill, the magazine said.

Um yeah, about me being in this movie? Um, yeah, uh, I think I'll uh, just, um leave now! Buh-bye!

To be fair, TRL shows (parts of) videos. At least, it did back when Carson was hosting it every day and I was in law school. Who can forget the day they retired "Freak on a Leash?" Or the incredible hold that BSB and NSync had on the #1 spot? No argument about prime-time, however. Blame the market.

I can't believe I am weighing in on this, but it is a boring Friday...

Jenny McCarthy was not portrayed as dumb and she actually held her own in a crowd of 50 stupid pumped up guys week after week on Singled Out. Leaving the viewing public to believe that she could kick all of their asses.

So, for Penske, I give you this...

Marisol had the Lawnguyland accent that those from California had never heard before. So there's a difference. I think one of the non-Kari followups was Latina, but I'm pretty sure no Carmen Electra. I don't think Carmen got her implants until the 90's, so she wasn't even Carmen Electra back then.

I had no problem with Remote Control or Beavis and Butthead, but the whole network went to shit once they started TRL. That was about a year after grunge had passed its sell-by date.
