I was watching the Oregon UCLA volleyball game this weekend, and there were 6'5" women. I'm wondering if some of them were lesbians could they get dates easier, or are the really tall just in a world where it's tough to find dates, no matter the genitals they're attracted to,

I've known a few tall women. Many of them have complained that they get too much attention from short guys. But I'm 6'2" on the internet and in real life, so they may have just been hitting on me.

Thanks for all the shirt advice. I don't have the cash for the ultra-high-end names that were dropped, sadly. I hit up Nordstrom Rack regularly, but it's hard to find decent white shirts on clearance. They're usually a regular stock item. If a white shirt goes onto the clearance rack, it usually has some weird collar thing going on.

I did pick up a seemingly well-made Banana Republic white shirt a while back at their outlet store. We'll see how it wears. They used to make nice dress shirts years ago. Now it's very hit and miss.

First thing is that you have to make sure to be the same as your neighbors. If the Alpha Caucasian does it, you must do it also.

Nobody ever got fired for wearing Nordstrom basic, and as you're noted they really don't feel the need to clear inventory.

I second a previous poster's suggestion of Land's End. Not sure how I wound up with one -- might have killed a preppie hobo during a bender -- but I wore it to rags because it looked and more importantly felt great.

Can it be said that the social stigma of a tall woman dating a short man doesn't really apply, however?

I think there are a number of obvious gender politics stereotypes that are the foundation for this assumption.

None of which are as obvious as this post.

Sadly, the company's name is actually, incorrectly, Lands' End. According to Wikipedia, this was an early typo that they couldn't afford to fix. You'd think Sears could have fixed it when they bought the company for billions a few years ago, but apparently the money went somewhere else.

Since the board is dead, here is a letter in today's Dear Margo:

Quote:

Dear Margo: I honestly don’t know where to turn. I can’t share this information with family or friends, and my husband is so ashamed, he doesn’t want me to tell anyone.

Now 52, he has been an alcoholic since he was 14. When he decided to quit drinking, he wanted to go out "with a bang." I was so proud of him for his decision that I told him whatever reward he wanted he could have. He is also very sexual, and he wanted to go to a strip club and have an intense version of a lap dance. As it turns out, they can’t really do that on site. So one gal offered to meet us at a hotel. I didn’t think I could watch that, and I wasn’t at all interested in participating, so we set the ground rules of three things he could do, and he took a cab up to a local hotel to meet her this past weekend. Today we talked about the experience, and although he really didn’t want to hurt me, he felt he should be honest. They ended up doing everything a couple can do. He is hugely sorry and doesn’t want anything more to do with strip clubs, porn or being with anyone else.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate him telling me what happened. On the other hand, I feel I am falling apart. I can’t stop crying, can’t stop visualizing. I just want it to go away. Do you have any advice for me? What do you think of this situation? — Desperately sad

I remain unconvinced (after all KISS had an army), but most of them are knuckleheads and/or chuckleheads and all of them have poor taste in music.

This guy probably would agree. Crappy sound, but funny bit.
