I'm very glad that Sharon Angle is not a U.S. Senator, (and that Miller and O'Donnell also seem to have lost -- gives me a touch more faith in the average voter) but I don't think Reid is a very good Majority Leader, and I'm not sure how much it helps the Dems to still have him around.

P.S. All that said, 2009 is not 1959, and LBJ himself would have had one helluva time getting enough GOP votes to get much more done in this Congress.
