Jesus Christ. This is such bullshit. I can't speak for your friends, but I ABSOLUTELY enjoy living in a diverse neighborhood. I used to visit Scottsdale all the time, but holy shit I would never want to live there. I love hanging out in certain heavily black sections of Brooklyn, but again, I wouldn't want to live in those places. I like having a good mix and that extends to ethnic restaurants, gay people feeling safe to walk the streets openly, women owning businesses, whatever. Maybe that makes me more enlightened (at least by being exposed to other cultures), maybe it doesn't. But what you said above is absolute garbage.

You have it the wrong way around, brother. As soon as people stop despising people
because they're different is the day when people won't have to speak up about being tolerant and open to diversity. I think you're focused on the annoying guy who wears it like a badge instead of the people who are actively trying to make others comfortable or trying to draw like-minded reasonable people in to join them.

The only fucking answer to "You're going to hell and ruining this country is "I am (or you should be) tolerant." The goal of those who are tolerant is not to be a part of some fucking tribe. It is to be tolerant and to create an atmosphere where all types of people are comfortable.
